Genshin Impact’sYelan is a very mysterious character. Those who delve into her Story Quest will learn a bit more about her, but much of her true identity is a secret to many. What is known, however, is that she uses a bow and has a Hydro Vision. She’s a five-star character that has some connection with the Chasm in Liyue and claims to work for the region’s Ministry of Civil Affairs (though this is a dubious claim, certainly!)

RELATED:Genshin Impact: Barbara’s Ascension And Talent Materials ListThis strange woman is also a playable character, meaning she can level up, ascend, and upgrade her talents. This is a goal for many people, as Yelan is one of the best characters in the game, often finding herself on Spiral Abyss teams. Anyone looking to maximize her potential will need some materials and some money. To do all of those things, here are the items and Mora that she’ll need.

Yelan has a Hydro Vision, meaning she’ll need some Varunada Lazurite to ascend, as well as a few other things. These items can all be found around Liyue, including inside the Chasm.

Gemstones - Where to Find Varunada Lazurite

This Hydro elemental stone is used by all Hydro characters for their ascension, including Yelan. It can be obtained in a few ways, like completing daily commissions and using the Parametric Transformer. However, the majority of Lazurite will come from defeating bosses.

The following bosses and trounce challenges can reward Varunada Lazurite:

Local Specialty - Where to Find Starconch

For a long time, Childe was the only character to use Starconch in their ascension. However, Yelan will also make use of these pretty blue shells now.

These Liyue specialties can be found on beaches along the eastern shore of Liyue, from the base of Dragonspine down through Yaoguang Shoal, to the tip of the bit of the land that sticks out toward Guyun Stone Forest. Many of them can also be found on the beaches of the islands that make up Guyun Stone Forest itself.

Bolai, the strange guy who operates his shop underneath the Liyue Harbor wharf, will also sell Starconch. He stocks five every three days, selling them for 1,000 Mora each.

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Fatui Insignias

Yelan is one of a few characters that uses Fatui Insignias to ascend. These are dropped by many different types of Fatui agents, including Bracers, Legionnaires, Vanguards, Cicin Mages, and Pyro Agents. Mirror Maidens, notably, do not drop Insignias, despite being Fatui footsoldiers.

Higher-level enemies drop higher-level materials, as shown here:

It’s not too hard to find Fatui to defeat for their materials, as they appear almost anywhere. Hotspots, though, include the foot of Dragonspine, the northern section of Narukami Island, and all over Liyue. There are also quite a few of them around the Mikage Furnace on Tatarasuna, on the northwest portion of Seirai Island, and dotted around Sumeru’s Hypostyle Desert (above and below ground).

Boss Drop - How to Get Runic Fang

The Ruin Serpent is a resident of the Chasm, an area that Yelan has a connection to, and its unique drop is the Runic Fang. It can only be accessed and defeated after unsealing the Chasm, since it’s located in the Underground Mines.

It’s not the hardest boss in the game, but it does have a 70% physical damage resistance, so keep that in mind when facing it. Also be sure to equip the Lumenstone Adjuvant, as it’s needed to stun the boss!

Talent Books - Prosperity

Yelan joins Qiqi, Shenhe, Keqing, Ningguang, Xiao, and the Geo Traveler in using the Prosperity series of talent books for her talent upgrades. These books can be obtained by clearing the Taishan Mansion domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials - Gilded Scale

Many characters leading up to Yelan’s release will use trounce materials from newer trounce challenges, but Yelan returns to a classic. She uses Gilded Scales, a dropfrom Azhdaha, for her talents. These, like any other trounce mat, can be obtained by defeating the challenge and then paying the Resin cost.
