The MCU is nothing short of a cultural phenomenon, with which Marvel rebooted its reputation and began a long road toward theatrical dominance.Avengers: Infinity WarandEndgamemay have brought theInfinity Saga of the MCUto an end, but it seems the new phase isn’t just looking at the aftermath but building the Multiverse saga.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessexpanded upon the latter, whileMs. Marvelis the most recent entry of the phase.Ms. Marvelintroduces Kamala Khan, while reorienting her abilities to focus on creating cosmic constructs out of a magical bangle. However,Ms. Marvelhas also taken a step forward by showing that, in the future, there’s stillXbox Game Passand Cloud Gaming.

One scene in the recentMs. Marvelepisodeshowcases someone playing a game on their phone. Specifically, viewers can see the phone attached to an Xbox Series X controller and streaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming. It would appear that they are playingNew Super Lucky’s Talethrough Xbox Game Pass, and so while it’s a small thing, it’s a nice touchstone for the MCU.

After all, while one could assume that many cultural touchstones like the PS5 and Xbox Series X still exist in the MCU, outright confirmation is nice. For example, it seems that PS5s are still difficult to get in the MCU becauseKorg is seen playingFortniteon a PS4 inAvengers: Endgame. It obviously doesn’t actually exist, as none of the events of the MCU do, but it’s a nice thing to see these references scattered throughout the franchise.

That’s one thing the Disney Plus shows can do a little better than the movies, showing how rooted these characters are in the world. And given how popular and expansive Xbox Game Pass is and how much Xbox Cloud Gaming has grown, it would make sense to see it in Ms. Marvel. It should be noted thatMs. Marveltakes place a year or two afterEndgame, meaning this is several years in the future. If the MCU is psychic, it means Xbox Cloud Gaming andXbox Game Passare going nowhere anytime soon.

Marvel and gaming go hand in hand. Outside the MCU, there are several Marvel games in development, includingthe multiplatformMarvel’s Midnight Sunsand the PlayStation exclusiveMarvel’s Spider-ManandMarvel’s Wolverine. By the time the real world catches up toMs. Marvelon the timeline, it’ll be interesting to see what other Marvel games are out there.
