WWE 2K23’s base game will have 178 wrestlers on the roster, with even more superstars available to those who get the Ruthless Aggression and Bad Bunny bonus packs. Last year’sWWE 2K22was a big success and a massive improvement for the franchise after the universally-pannedWWE 2K20. Many WWE fans are excited to see ifWWE 2K23can keep the momentum going strong, and while that remains to be seen, things are looking bright for the new game.
WWE 2K23will add the WarGames matchand make gameplay improvements across the board. While competing in WWE matches, players will have quite a large selection of wrestlers to choose from, with a whopping 178 wrestlers confirmed for the base game’s roster alone.

TheWWE 2K23roster includes a large portion of the modern stars from the current Raw, SmackDown, and NXT television programs. Basically everyone that has had a major presence on WWE TV in the last couple of years is included on the roster (minus Bray Wyatt), alongside plenty of legends. Some of theWWE 2K23legendsinclude Andre the Giant, Booker T, two variations of Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, The Rock, and many others.

Those thatpre-orderWWE 2K23will have an even bigger roster of fighters at launch. Anyone that pre-ordersWWE 2K23, or springs for the Deluxe or Icon editions of the game, will also be able to play as Grammy Award-winning rapper Bad Bunny. While some fans who haven’t watched WWE in recent years may be confused by Bad Bunny’s inclusion on theWWE 2K23roster, he’s made multiple appearances for the company, even competing in and winning a match at WrestleMania 37.
TheWWE 2K23Icon Edition also comes with the Ruthless Aggression Pack, giving players alternate looks for John Cena, Batista,Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton based on their days at Ohio Valley Wrestling. John Cena and Batista were actually completely different characters back then, with Cena known as Prototype and Batista known as Leviathan.
John Cena will be a big focus inWWE 2K23, with the new game’s Showcase mode based on his career. More specifically, theWWE 2K23Showcase mode is all about John Cena’s high profile losses, with players actually taking on the role of his opponents, which should make for a rather intriguing twist on the Showcase mode formula.
WWE 2K23launches March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
