World of Warcraftjust shared a short video and blog post about the dracthyr Evoker. In the posts,World of Warcraftshared some facts, tips, and tricks players might want to know before making their own dracthyr Evokers once they become available in theDragonflightPre-Patch.

The dracthyr Evoker is the new dragon-themed race and class combination being added inDragonflight. Starting on November 15,players who purchasedDragonflightwill be able to make a dracthyr Evoker and play through their unique starting area on the Forbidden Reach. As a hero class, dracthyr Evokers start at level 58. Players can only make one Evoker per realm, and while the first can be made with no restrictions, subsequent Evokers require a pre-existing level 50 character on the chosen realms to create.

Both the video and blog showed off some of the plentiful customization combinations available with the new dracthyr. With millions upon millions of permutations across its two forms, no two dracthyr characters will be alike. In the short video,World of Warcraftconcisely explained how the dracthyr customization works. The dracthyr form’s armor is set during character creation and changed through the barber shop, like jewelry and hairstyle for other races. Though the visage formshows all of aWorld of Warcraftcharacter’s transmogged gear, the dracthyr form only shows pauldrons and some belts.

The blog post shared some basic information about the Evoker’s abilities and traits. Evokers can choose between two specializations: Devastation and Preservation.Devastation is the Evoker’s DPS spec inDragonflight, which enables them to blast and burn foes with Blue and Red dragon magic. Preservation Evokers are healers, focusing on curing wounds with restorative Green dragon magic, or reversing damage with time-twisting Bronze magic. All specializations also have access to some Black dragon spells to raise defense or inflict heavy damage and stuns.

The new mail-wearing class cansoar through the skies ofWorld of Warcraftor glide down to safety and uses a new resource called Essence, functionally similar to Energy or Focus. The new Empower skills also enable players to charge up certain abilities to make more potent effects.

Players won’t have to wait long to give the new dracthyr Evoker a try. Though some players are not a fan of the lithe appearance of the dracthyr, and others wish their visage forms could be of other races, most players are still excited to try out the new class. Thesecond phase of theDragonflightPre-Patch goes live on November 15, and with it,World of Warcraft’snewest race and class will be playable.
