World of Warcraftis well into the alpha testing process forDragonflight, its next expansion pack, meaning players have gotten their hands on all sorts of information and files from the game. SomeWorld of Warcraftfans have discovered a series of NPC-only customizations that could eventually make their way to the player’s character creation screen.

The Primalists are one of themajor antagonistic factions inWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Though the leaders of this elemental-wielding faction consist primarily of proto-dragons, many mortals serve them as well. Most of these mortals have unique glowing eye customizations that coincide with the four major elements: air, earth, fire, and water.

The customizations themselves have been found byWorld of Warcraftdataminers, leading them to be added to Wowhead’s betaDragonflightDressing Room under the NPC-restricted options. Though there have been many other NPC-only customizations discovered in-game in the past, the Primalist eyes are more complete, as they have both a color picker swatch and proper name most others lack.

This could meanWorld of Warcraftplans on providing this option for players in the future. The Dark Ranger eye and skin tone customizations were also found similarly, andWorld of Warcraftmade those options available to players in Patch 9.2.5via an achievement. It is possible it could do the same with these Primalist eyes–possibly as a reward for defeating the Primal Incarnates during theDragonflightraids.

Many players are excited about the prospect of getting the Primalists’ elemental eyes. Expanded customization is incredibly important to players, and these new options would provide immense opportunities for many. The addition of these eyes could also herald the addition of other NPC-only options, such as the slit draconic eye options many dragon characters use in their visage forms. Additionally,World of Warcraftoffering more customization optionsvia in-game unlocks provides more incentive for players to try different parts of the game.

However, manyWorld of Warcraftplayers aren’t getting their hopes up quite yet. The Dark Ranger customizations were available in the Dressing Room for years before they were implemented, and there are a lot of other options that are still unavailable to players. Other players are not enthusiastic about locking certain customization options behind in-game content, especially challenging encounters like raids. That said,World of Warcrafthas yet to reveal any concrete plansfor adding new customizations yet, so for now, players can do little more than speculate.

World of Warcraftis available now on PC. TheDragonflightexpansion is set to launch later this year.
