The Witcher 3fan posted their painting to Reddit, in a video which shows them bringing the colours of their painting out through varnishing. The player potrayed a scene of Geralt riding up to Hanged Man’s Tree, a location found just as the player leaves the starting area of White Orchard and makes their way into the true open-world area ofThe Witcher 3. Located in Velen, Hanged Man’s Tree is suitably a tree where a few corpses can be seen hanging as a meal for crows. The tree is often noted by fans as a gritty opening to the world ofThe Witcherand even as an introduction to the in-game area of Velen.

Fans ofThe Witcher 3quickly found the post and praised its portrayal of Hanged Man’s Tree. One fan comedically wrote “well if that isn’t the loveliest picture of corpses swinging in the breeze, I don’t know what is,” while another wrote “toss a coin to your painter,” a reference toThe WitcherTV show, something that has divided fans as of late. Some believe that the portrayal ofThe Witcherin season 2 was inaccurate to the books, causingseries creator Lauren Hissrichto answer questions over Twitter.
