Summary

Merchants can provide players with plenty of opportunities inGhost of Tsushimato fight the Mongol forces that have invaded Tsushima and advance to the mainland of Japan. With Jin Sakai as the only hope to stop them, he’s going to need the best supplies possible, provided by some of the bestMerchants, but there are some purchases that should definitely be avoided.

Ghost of Tsushimaprovides players with many opportunities to spend their Supplies, whether that’s gaining more ammunition for their Ghost Weapons or upgrading their pouches, attire, armor, or weapons, there’s a lot to learn, and a lot of traps to avoid, so players should be careful and avoid these following purchases.

arrows from merchants

6Arrows

Purchased For 5 Supplies

Arrows are theperfect choice for the Half Bow, and with great aim, players can instantly kill others with a headshot. However, arrows shouldn’t be purchased from merchants, simply because they are so easily found in the world.

Players can find arrows when fighting Mongols, or in their camps, so it would be a tad silly to spend unnecessary Supplies on such a common item, especially when it can only really be used effectively in stealth sections.

prowling tiger sword set

5Unattractive Sword Kits

Purchased For 15 Flowers

Sword Kits allow players to express themselves on the battlefield, and they provide no tactical advantage whatsoever. It’s purely a cosmetic used to feel good when fighting Mongols and raiders, but players all have a personal preference onwhat looks good and what doesn’t, so it’s best to save the Flowers currency for items that really pop out.

When playingGhost of Tsushima, the best sword kits are decided by the individual player, and there is certainly no reason to purchase all of them, so it might be a good idea to save Flowers and only buy the ones that really speak out and have a visual flair that excites players.

linen from merchants

4Linen

Purchased for 30 Supplies

A fairly expensive material found in the pockets of Trappers, Linen is a resource that can be purchased for 30 Supplies, which is fairly expensive, especially when it’s rather common across Tsushima. Players will be able to harness much of this resource simply through completing Tales of Tsushima, which acts as the main and sidecontent for the game’s storiesand its characters.

Linen is great, as Armourers can use it to upgrade attire and armor, but that definitely is not going to be a reason to purchase it from Trappers, as players will end up with more Linen than they know what to do with, especially since they won’t need to upgrade every armor set inGhost of Tsushima, as only some provide great bonuses and a distinct visual style.

purchase leather from merchants

3Leather

Purchased For 75 Supplies

One of the most expensive resources to be purchased from Trappers is Leather. It’s an uncommon cloth, and players might not be able to find much of it out in the wild, but simply bycompleting Tales of Tsushima, they will have an abundance.

This is a valued resource thanks to the potential to upgrade attire and armor from Armorers, but players won’t need to waste their Supplies on this resource when simply playing through the game’s plethora of story content will be enough.

purchase iron from merchants

2Iron

Purchased For 30 Supplies

Another common resource, Iron can be purchased from Trappers to be used by Swordsmiths to upgrade katanas and tantos. However, since players are going to find a seemingly infinite supply of iron due to its appearance in Mongol-occupied territory and rooms, they aren’t exactly going to run out to the point where they will be trading Supplies for it.

Besides the fact that players will have an abundance of this resource, katanas, and tantos can only be upgraded so far before they have the maximized potential, so it won’t be necessary to purchase iron past this time, and players would’ve wasted supplies.

purchase steel from merchants

1Steel

An even more uncommon metalto be had inGhost of Tsushima, steel is used to further enhance the upgrade potential of the katana and tanto wielded by Jin Sakai, but also like iron, it is a material that also outserves its usefulness, and players will not need to spend their earned Supplies on such a thing when they can so easily find it elsewhere within their travels.

Players can pick up steel when theyexplore Mongol-occupied territory, such as their forts and camps, on their person and within tents. It’s not as uncommon as one would think, and players are easily going to end up with a bunch of it to the point where they would regret buying it, as they would be stuck with more steel than sense.
