One of the most infamous games of all time,Skyrim, still gives players a huge number of memories. Having inspired many other games over the past decade, this medieval fantasy world is filled with a huge number of characters. However, the protagonist, the Dragonborn, can take on many forms, as with many RPG protagonists.
The customizable character that players take control of is known by many as the Dragonborn, butplayers choose their race, gender, and name. However, there are some forces across Skyrim and Tamriel that are universally dangerous to every version of the character, no matter what players choose to do or be.
5Dragons
Strong Enemies That Can Spawn At The Most Unfortunate Times
Though the Dragonborn is the person given the task of defeating the dragons, as the only one who can absorb their souls and truly kill them, there are several advantages that dragons have in a fight which can cause huge issues for the Dragonborn every time they go intobattle against these huge creatures.
The size of dragons is only one of the huge advantages they have over the Dragonborn and every other creature in Tamriel. Another is their fire, which gives them the sort of range many other creatures don’t have, and their flight, which gives them the ability to do heavy damage. Most of all, dragons are sometimes able to instantly kill the Dragonborn with their mouths, making for an impossible attack to stop.
That said, as players unlock more Thu’um Shouts, they do eventually gain powerful advantages against them.
4Unkillable/Essential Characters
Angering NPCs Marked As Essential Makes Them Impossible Enemies To Defeat
There arevarious characters aroundSkyrimthat cannot be killed. While this is not a weakness for the Dragonborn as a character, the Dragonborn can be defeated over and over in battle, while these characters cannot be killed.
If the Dragonborn annoys one of these characters and enters combat with them, the only way to survive is to escape. Unkillable characters can be knocked down, but never truly defeated, and usually, they will remain in combat with the Dragonborn until the player decides to get far away from them. This makes for one of the more challenging situations that the Dragonborn can run into in their adventures aroundSkyrim.
3Daedric Princes
Scheming God-Like Creatures With Powerful Minions
The various Daedric Princesare god-like beings in the world of Tamriel. Each has its own domains and beings that work at their behest, but the one thing they all share is their absolute power. All the Daedra are incredibly powerful, and most could easily kill the Dragonborn if they actually wanted to do so.
In general, the Daedric Princes simply challenge the Dragonborn throughout their adventures. The powers that the Dragonborn is blessed with do nothing to help stand against the incredible powers that the Daedra have, and even their lower minions are generally very challenging to defeat.
2Giants
Can Send The Dragonborn Into Orbit With One Hit
Giants are one of the other vast-sized creatures that inhabitSkyrim. Usually found tending their mammoths, the Dragonborn will be sent after them, mostly during bounty quests and a few side quests that lightly involve them. Killing one is a challenge players might give themselves to test their mettle.
However, in most melee-range fights,the Dragonborn will lose against a giant. Sneaking, long-ranged weaponry and the shouts available to the Dragonborn can all help against these huge beasts, but at short range, even the Dragonborn has no defense for their sheer power. Especially at lower levels, the Dragonborn will find themselves thrown high into the air by the smashing club attack the giants use, which is a certain instant death for the adventurer.
1Fall Damage
Even The Dragonborn Is Subject To The Laws Of Physics
The easiest way for the Dragonborn to die, the greatest weakness, for which there is no real in-game solution, is fall damage. Open-world games likeSkyrimforce players to traverse great areas, and the large map available in this game isfilled with hills and mountainsthat players have to climb.
ManySkyrimplayers, taking on the role of the Dragonborn, have suffered many deaths from fall damage. Despite them having horses and being able to travel around quickly, there are many areas inSkyrimwhere the Dragonborn have to climb treacherously to find important locations, and almost every player has suffered a grievous fall at some point.
