With numerous classes and abilities to select, players can create various build types to progress through the game. It’s important to create a team that fills different roles in combat. One of the most important roles to include in any engagement is a melee build character.
These types of builds are ideal forpushing forward, taking the brunt of attacks, and blocking enemies, so they cannot reach players’ ranged companions. Rogue Trader supplies numerous weapon choices for this type of build, from hard-hitting thunder hammers to poisoned xenos swords.

10The Hand Of Xenocide
Power
The Hand of Xenocide is a power axe that deals a large amount of damage to enemies within its range. Found on Kiava Gamma after completing the colony project Calculating Holiness. This weapon is of Adeptus Mechanicus origin and would work well with companions in a support role as their option for melee defense. It is worth equipping for the late game in Commorragh, as the main enemies are xenos.
The axe offers three attacks, Strike (1 AP, Brutal Strike (2AP), and Sweep (2AP).In addition to these attacks, this weapon also deals +(Wielders Lore Xenos 4)% more damage to Xenos. To wield this weapon, the character must have Part-Machine 1.

9Incubus Klaive
Exotic
A weapon of the depraved xenos race known as the Drukhari. The Incubus Klaive is a heavy-hitting sword that can be used by companions who have the Drukhari Weapon Proficiency skill. This is a perfect secondary weapon for Jae or a primary weapon for Marazhai.
The Incubus Glaive can be most easily acquired once players have reached Commorragh. It has two attacks; Strike (1AP), and Brutal Strike (2 AP). In addition, it also gives +10% to Parry and -10% to the enemy’s weapon skill when hit.

8Woebringer
This large two-handed sword is of xenos origin and can inflict alarge amount of damageto enemies that get within its range. The weapon has the standard two attacks; Strike (1 AP) and Brutal Strike (2 AP), which is used against multiple enemies.
Woebringer also has the Shove ability, which inflicts additional +Wielders AGI Bonus damage. This weapon is perfect as a frontline assault weapon, although the wielder must have the Drukhari Weapon Proficiency. Jae is an ideal companion for Woebringer as players will meet her early in the game, and she can use this weapon as soon as it is acquired.

7(Mars Pattern) Thunder Hammer
A weapon of Adeptus Mechanicus origin, this thunder hammer is a hard-hitting weapon that can deal a large amount of damage. It offers three types of attack; Strike (1 AP), Thunder Slam (2 AP) for multiple enemies, and the Shove (2 AP) ability.
To wield this weapon, the character cannot have Adeptus Astartes, Drukhari, or Aeldari equipment. This is an ideal weapon choice for Pasqal, as he is mainly used for his tech skills. This weapon allows him tohold his own in close combat.

6Master Crafted Power Claymore
This large two-handed sword is one of the best weapons for melee-based characters in the game. Offering high damage and good armor penetration, the Master Crafted Power Claymore is ideal for taking on some of the more dangerous foes in the game.
This weapon offers two attacks, the standard Strike (1 AP), and the Brutal Strike (2 AP). In addition, this Master-Crafted weapon gives +10% to the wielders' Parry and -10% to enemies' Weapon Skill when hit. This is the perfect weapon for Warrior builds and is acquired after completing the Colony Project, Repentance The Lost on Vheabos VI.

5Eviscerator

In the setting ofWarhammer 40k,there are few weaponsmore iconic thanthe chainsword. The Eviscerator is one of the best of this type inRogue Trader.Offering high damage, this is the perfect weapon for frontline assaults on enemies.
This weapon has two attacks, the Strike (1 AP), and the Brutal Strike (2 AP). In addition, the Eviscerator gives +10% to Parry and -10% to an enemy’s Weapon Skill when hit. To wield this weapon, characters must not have Adeptus Astartes, Drukhari, or Aeldari equipment.

4Staff Of Shock and Awe
Primitive
Warhammer 40k:Rogue Traderhas multiple weapons for each of the companions’ build types. For Psyker builds, several different staffs can be found throughout the game. One of the best is the Staff of Shock And Awe.
This staff not only hits quite hard with a Strike (1 AP) attack but also offers a psychic attack, Lightning Arc (2 AP), that causes massive damage to multiple enemies. The damage of the Lightning Arc is measured by the wielder’s power level and chain attacks to enemies close to the target. This weapon can be purchased from Vladaym Tocara the Liege.

3Righteous Charge
This destructive maul causes high damage and high armour penetration and is perfect for frontline assaults orprotecting the rearline. The weapon offers three attacks; Strike (1 AP), Thunder Slam (2 AP) for attacking multiple enemies, and Shove (2 AP).
In addition to these attacks, any enemy hit by the weapon must take an Agility Resistance Test. Any collisions made using the weapon’s pushing attacks deal +300% more damage. To wield this weapon, characters inRogue Tradermust not have Adeptus Astartes, Drukhari, or Aeldari equipment.

2Staff Of Unseen Chains
Another option for Psyker builds inWarhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, the Staff of Unseen Chains is the perfect weapon for support characters. The staff deals decent damage with its Strike (1 AP) attack. The strength of this Staff lies in its Bind (2 AP) ability, which also comes in its Heroic Act and Desperate Measures versions.
In addition to these attacks, the first telekinesis power used by the wielder each turn does not increase veil degradation. There is also a +15 boost to willpower when using this staff. OnlySanctioned or Unsanctioned Psykerscan use this weapon.

1Omnissiah’s Providence
Another weapon of Adeptus Mechanicus origin in the game, the Omnissiah’s Providence, is a power weapon thatdeals high damageand offers great armor penetration. The weapon supplies three attacks; Strike (1 AP), Brutal Strike (2 AP), and Sweep (2 AP).
In addition to the standard attacks, this weapon will deal increased damage of +(3 x INT Bonus)% until the end of combat if the weapon’s target is suffering from the exposed effect. On top of this, if the target isn’t weakened by both an exploit and expose effects, both of these are then placed on the target after the attack.
