Summary
WithSoulframeupdates, details regardingWarframe’s October update, the reveal of the new Warframe Dagath, and much, much more, TennoCon continues to be an undeniable success. But perhaps the biggest reveal is the upcoming Whispers in the Wallscinematic quest forWarframe, which is set to release in Winter 2023.
Warframeis no stranger to epic cinematic quests and updates, and Whispers in the Walls is likely to be no different. Of some of the last few cinematic quests like The New War, Angels of the Zariman, andthe Duviri Paradox, one dev did mention that Whispers in the Walls is perhaps most similar to the Zariman update. This should go a long way in managing fans' expectations, but it’s incredibly exciting nonetheless.

“The Kalymos sequence has begun, and it cannot be undone” are the terrifying words spoken near the start of thisWarframecinematic quest, which has some serious cosmic horror vibes. Fans got their first look at it at TennoCon 2023, which featured the first twenty-seven minutes or so of the quest. Digital Extremes details Whispers in the Walls as “the beginning of an epic new narrative arc forWarframethat brings a new cinematic storyline answering questions players have had since the game’s origin.”
Eagle-eyed fans may be quick to point out the older tech that’s in use (like the phone, CRT computer, and train), the reveals of a newWarframefaction, improvements to the Necramechs, and more. And of course, it’s hard to ignore the gameplay revolving around the grimoire. All in all, the cinematic quest’s introduction has some serious mad scientist vibes paired with the thrill of the unknown. Part of this quest, Digital Extremes explained, is about taking players back to the familiar, yet recontextualizing all the new information. After all, part of this quest will see an expansion under Deimos forWarframe, showcasing just how special it is.
Of course, TennoCon 2023 came with the goods and fans received more information than just a look at this update. TennoLive saw the launch of Heirloom Collections forthe Warframes Frost and Mag, a brief look atWarframe: 1999(a major 2024 update), and the launch of mobile iOS pre-orders for the 2024 release ofWarframe Mobile. As a whole, no one can argue that 2023 has been a great year for video games with new releases likeZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3, and the upcomingStarfield, and Digital Extremes is matching this with everything it’s working on forWarframetoo. Gamers are eating good this year, andWarframeplayers are not missing out on any meals either.
Warframeis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
