Universal Orlando Resort has officially unveiled its new Epic Universe theme park, an immersive experience that will take players to the worlds ofNintendo,Harry Potter, and more when it opens in 2025. TheNintendoportion of this new expansion was announced back in January 2020, though it would be ultimately delayed from its initial 2023 launch date to next summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This will be the third Super Nintendo World attraction to open, after the original Japan location in 2021 and another American branch at Universal Studios Hollywood last February. Just like its Japanese counterpart, the Epic Universe version of Super Nintendo World will include attractions based onSuper Mario BrosandMario Kart, as well as aDonkey Kong-themed roller coasterdubbed the Mine Cart Madness.

Now Universal is pulling back the curtain on its upcoming Epic Universe theme park and its many different attractions. Universal has confirmed that Epic Universe will open in 2025, and will feature over 50 attraction, entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences spread across five connected sections. The first is Celestial Park, which serves as the primary hub for Epic Universe. Here, guests will be able to explore lush living gardens and architectureinspired by astronomy and mythologybefore taking a ride on space-themed attractions like the Starfall Racers dual-launch roller coaster, Constellation Carousel, and Astronomica wet-play area.

Universal Epic Universe Will Let Guests Explore Super Mario, Harry Potter, And More

Once guests are finished seeing all Celestial Park has to offer, they can journey to the other four worlds of Universal Epic Universe, which are all inspired by famous properties. These include theaforementioned Super Nintendo World, where gaming fans can climb into the world of Mario, Donkey Kong, and others through the iconic green Warp Pipe. Next comes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, in which guests can learn about sorcery in locations from theHarry PotterandFantastic Beastsfilms.

The fourth Epic Universe world is How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, which lets aspiring Vikings fly with dragons in a colorful world inspired by thepopularHow to Train Your Dragonanimated films. Lastly, Dark Universe, which shares its name with Universal’s short-lived cinematic universe based on its classic monster characters, puts brave guests face-to-face with the twisted experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein and a host of other nightmarish creatures in a world of myth and mystery. There will be plenty more to see and do in Universal Orlando Resort’s new Epic Universe park when it opens in 2025, including itsSuper Nintendo Worldattraction.
