Summary
In a recent statement, Trainwreck, a renowned content creator and the current representative of Kick.com, a prominent competitor to the leading streaming platformTwitch, has drawn attention to a noteworthy aspect affecting the platform’s signing of streamers. He highlighted that the inflated and often speculative figures associated withKick’s previous signingsare causing unintended challenges during the negotiation process with other content creators.
After being established in December 2022, Kick quickly garnered attention for its appealing Creator Program, which seemingly outshone that of Twitch. Soon after, Kick announced the signing of the well-known content creator Adin Ross. Although it was widely reported that Adin Ross had secured a groundbreaking deal with Kick, the exact figures remained undisclosed. Not too long ago, Adin Ross himself claimed thatKick had extended a jaw-dropping $40 million offer to both Kai Cenat and IShowSpeedto entice them away from their respective platforms and join Kick’s ranks. As if these headlines weren’t enough, Kick shook the industry again in June by announcing a staggering $100 million deal with the popular streamer xQc.

He noted that some creators, believing they hold greater influence, are now demanding significantly more based on these possibly skewed figures. This situation is giving rise to unrealistic expectations and making the negotiation process challenging for the platform. It’s important to mention that the signing of xQc, which generated substantial buzz, might have played a crucial role in sparking this discourse. Notably, YouTuber-turned-boxerLogan Paul recently expressed skepticism about xQc’s deal with Kick, raising questions about the magnitude of the financial arrangement.
Despite these hurdles, Kick continues its expansion by securing partnerships with influential content creators globally. Their most recent acquisition is the well-known American streamer, Fousey, who joined Kick after being suspended from Twitch twice within a week. Additionally,Kick has also recently onboarded one of Twitch’s top female creators.
