Thymesiacontains a bunch of boss fights available to players. Some of these are considered side objectives and aren’t necessary to progress the game’s main story. These, however, are fantastic fights that all players should undertake to fully experience the game.

One of these fights is the God of The Fools, a side boss which can be undertaken once players have cleared the Sea of Trees and beatenThymesia’sfirst boss Odur. This fight isn’t necessarily difficult, but can test players if they aren’t bringing the right loadout to the fight. Here’s how to emerge victorious.

The God of The Fools Fight

The God of the Fools is a huge hulking monolith that stands in the middle of the arena. The player isn’t actually fighting the boss itself — rather, players should think of the boss as more of a hazard than a direct opponent. It will breathe poison onto Corvus and slam down various parts of the arena, cutting off the player’s path.

The arena also has manyenemies from the Sea of Trees zones, which will attempt to attack the player if they move too close to them. Finally, there are cysts throughout the arena which spread poisonous gas. These will cause a poison bar to build up, and once full, will deal 50 damage per tick to the player. These cysts should be destroyed if possible, as they’ll block the player’s capability to move safely.

Thymesia God of the Fools Face

As a bonus fight inThymesia, this fight doesn’t really test the player’s skill in fighting another enemy. Instead,it tests their ability to endure through a gauntlet.Players will need to traverse the entire arena, battling enemies, breaking cysts, and dodging the boss' attacks. Once at the top, the player will be able to execute The God of The Fools and end the fight. Slaying the God of The Fools will grant the player some key items which are important for thegame’s ending, and will also grant a new plague weapon

Loadout Tips

Talent Recommendations

It’s worthwhile noting that Talents can be respec’d at any time, which is auseful tip for beginnersstruggling with this fight. Feel free to swap around talents and experiment with their playstyles to best suit the player.

Plague Weapon: Bow

The Bow is a great plague weapon for players looking for an alternative weapon to feathers. Like feathers, the bow can be used from a range helping it clear out cysts. It does a good amount of damage as well, so it can help players chip away at enemies from afar.

Potion: Long Lasting Potion

As a lot of this fight is an endurance test, it’s definitely most worthwhile to grab Long Lasting Potions, as they’ll give the player the most effective healing throughout the fight.

Gameplay Tip: Be Patient

There aren’t many tips to give for gameplay when it comes to The God of The Fools. The best advice players can get is to be patient. Traversing through the arena can take some time and impatient players are more likely to make mistakes. Dying is particularly punishing in this fight as its quite lengthy, so endurance is the name of the game.
