Thor’s cast of characters is nigh on endless and his journey through theMarvel Cinematic Universeis showing no signs of slowing down. It will be interesting for fans, to seewhere the Thor character goes next, especially with the impending teasers of the credits scenes threatening to derail the Thor train.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
8Mid-Credits Scene
Once the credits begin rolling, they are soon brought to a halt by the return of Omnipotence City. The great halls are empty, with all but Zeus and adoring women around him, tending to the wound he sustained during the movie. Russell Crowe seems to be in for another outing as Zeus, as he is still alive, and speaks of his hatred against Thor and the way gods have been turned into pathetic attempts at superheroes.
Zeus calls upon his son to hunt down and destroy Thor once and for all. This son, Hercules, is a famed character in Marvel Comics. Here, Hercules is played by Brett Goldstein, a British actor, comedian, and writer. Goldstein is best known for writing and starring in the Apple TV+ show,Ted Lasso. His appearance here is a clear indication of what fans can expect from the next soloThoradventure.

7Omnipotence City In Disarray
When Thor, Valkyrie, Mighty Thor, and Korg flee Omnipotence City, they left it a little worse for wear. During the movie, a fight takes place between the Asgardian crew and Zeus and his guards. Countless die in the action-packed scene, with spectacle galore of golden blood from the guards.
As they embark to findthe movie’s villain Gorr, the Asgardian team notes how they will probably be hunted by all gods for the rest of their days. This is due to the destruction they caused in Omnipotence City. As a place where all gods of the universe go for meetings, they bore witness to Asgardians wreaking havoc.

6A Vengeful Zeus
When audiences see Zeus inThor: Love and Thunder, he is more of a joke than a powerful deity. Even Thor, who once saw Zeus as his hero, is greatly disappointed by the god. After telling Doctor Jane Foster ofthe heroics of Zeus, there is only sadness in Thor’s eyes as he sees his hero ramble on about orgies and how other gods do not matter as they are “lesser.”

During their fight at Omnipotence City, Zeus is stabbed through the chest with his thunderbolt, which Valkyrie steals shortly after. When viewers see Zeus in the mid-credits scene, he is angry and vengeful toward Thor. He sees Thor as an enemy, someone who has made people see gods as “superheroes” rather than idols of worship. Zeus’ vow to show mankind fear, could lead to some serious action inThor 5or a newAvengersmovie.
5Who Is Hercules
With Zeus having his wounds treated, and as he rambles on about what gods used to mean in the universe, he looks up to his son, Hercules, who was listening the whole time. Hercules accepts his father’s mission to find and kill Thor and slaps his Golden Mace in his palm.
In Marvel Comics, Hercules has hadquarrels with Thor before. He is seen as a great hero in Ancient Greece and died after his wife tricked him into drinking his weakness: Hydra Blood. Hercules was granted immortality and found himself centuries later with the heroes of the modern world. The comics show Hercules as an Avenger, who uses his great strengths to combat evil.

4Post-Credits Scene
When the credits begin to roll, there is an eagerness to appreciate them all, whilst anticipating the post-credits scene that Marvel fans expect. Here, Jane Foster arrives after her death, clad in robes, and is greeted at the entrance of Valhalla.

Jane is in a post-death world, as Valhalla is the location of those who die in combat in the Norse mythology. Jane is greeted by none other than Heimdall, a character last seen inAvengers: Infinity War: a movie in which he died. The two converse, and then the scene ends with the beautiful landscape of Valhalla and Jane and Heimdall walking away together.
3Goodbye, Doctor Jane Foster
Jane’s battle with cancer was part of the movie’s story and a driving factor for emotional moments. She is brave throughout, but, as the Mighty Thor, she finds herself being drained of life from the magical hammer, Mjolnir. Jane’s cancer worsens after she uses Mjolnir too many times, and shedies loved, and loving, in Thor’s arms. Her body dissipates into gold dust, and she ascends to Valhalla.
This could very well be the end of Natalie Portman’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a shame, as there are a lot ofstories to be told with Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor. Recently, Marvel Comics had Jane as the new Valkyrie. Since Jane is in Valhalla, there’s always potential for her to remerge as a new hero.

2A Reunion with Heimdall
The last fans saw of Heimdall was inAvengers: Infinity War. The character, who had been in theThormovies sinceThor(2011), was tragically killed at the beginning of the movie when Thanos and his forces invaded the ship and culled their numbers. Heimdall died, but ascended to Valhalla, leaving behind his child, Axel, to be raised on New Asgard.
Idris Elba reprises his role as Heimdall for the post-credits scene and shares it with Natalie Portman. It was a loving touch to see the character, and gives fans a little closure for Heimdall, knowing that he is in Valhalla with the rest of Asgard’s fallen.

1Valhalla
With Jane and Heimdall in Valhalla, many fans may be wondering what exactly the mystifying and beautiful location is. Valhalla, for Marvel Comics, is the Asgardian afterlife. It is where heroes and honored dead are transported to. Characters like theWarriors Three and Odinare expected to be in Valhalla, merrily drinking in Odin’s Hall.
Valhalla seems like the perfect place to spend an eternity in the afterlife. If Valkyrie was to die, it could be expected that she would be reunited with her girlfriend and her other Valkyrie sisters that died in battle for Asgard against Hela. Hela is a character that is not expected to be in Valhalla.
