Despite numerous delays, the hype for Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated sequel,The Last of Us 2,is still as strong as ever.Many welcomed the delay to be a good thing, given that it shows Naughty Dog’s commitment to bringing a deserving sequel to the now-iconic 2013 game,The Last of Us.
Several weeks ago, Naughty Dog, in partnership with Dark Horse Comics,announced an upcoming book that delves into the art ofThe Last of Us 2. The book even featured a concept art showing Ellie and Dinah fighting a horde of infected on horseback, which suggested thatThe Last of Us 2will feature horseback combat, though that remains to be unconfirmed by Naughty Dog. Now,The Last of Usfans would be happy to know that pre-orders for the book are available right now, and Amazon is even offering a discount for the artbook, which is set to release on July 31, 2025.

The Art of The Last of Us Part 2will come in two hardcover versions. The Deluxe Edition will include the artbook, an exclusive cover and slipcase, and a gallery-quality lithograph of the game. This edition is available for $89.99, but Amazon is offering it for $58.22, which is 35% off its original price. A standard edition is also available for $23.99, which is 40% off its list price of $23.99. It is worth pointing out that both editions will not include a copy ofThe Last of Us 2game.
The Last of Us Part 2was previously set to release in February of 2020but has been delayed to launch on May 29. In a statement released by Game Director Neil Druckmann, the developer explained that the team needed additional time to bring the game to a level a standard that Naughty Dog games are known for. Druckmann then explained that it all came down to a decision on whether to compromise the game’s quality or to delay the release date again and luckily enough, the team chose the latter.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation Blog recently held a poll to its community to choose which game they believe deserves the title of Game of the Decade. Unsurprisingly, 2013’The Last of Ustook the top spot and accounted for 11% of the total votes. Of course, given the impact thatThe Last of Usbrought to the video game industry, it isn’t surprising that the game, which has been out for seven years now,is widely considered by PlayStation fans as the game that defined the 2010’s.
The Last of Us 2releases July 26, 2025, exclusively for the PS4.
