The concept of kyber crystal bleeding was first introduced early on in Disney’s newStar Warscanon. TheAhsokanovel and a series of Darth Vader comics explainedhow a lightsaber blade is turned redwhen a dark side user pours all of their hate, fear, and pain into a kyber crystal. This causes the crystal to become corrupted, resulting in the signature red color that makes the Sith and other dark-siders so intimidating.
