Ubisoft has now announced thatThe Division 2isn’t just getting an extra batch of content and a new Season before the end of the year, but that it’s also planning a full Year 5 of content for the game. This comes after the game received its Year 4 revival, following a series of seasonal reruns to keep the players busy until more content was being developed.
Ubisoft’s dedication toThe Division 2has been underlined by the fact that the developers seem to have a fair bit more content planned for the foreseeable future. The publisher’s recent Ubisoft Forward presentation clearly announced that not only will Season 3 be released on September 13, but players should also expect lots more Apparel Events and updates over the course of 2023.

WhileThe Divison 2’s 2021 revivalcame as a bit of a surprise to its loyal player base, Ubisoft has continued releasing content updates and new features for the game from that point onwards. This included a variety of additional features and game modes, as well as three new Seasons over the course of 2022. This is now set to continue in 2023, according to Ubisoft’s announcements, allowing the game to remain relevant asDivisionoffshoots such asHeartlandandResurgenceexplore new niches.
Alongside regular content additions such as new Manhunt missions, Ubisoft has also announced new Countdown Mode and Stronghold difficulty levels, as well as a variety of key gameplay updates. One of the major recent additions to the game’s core progression loop, for example, wasThe Division 2’s Expertise system, allowing players to permanently upgrade their characters' proficiency with specific weapon variants.
To that end, players that aren’t overly keen on playingThe Division Resurgenceon mobile phonescan stick withThe Division 2for quite a long while still. That being said, it doesn’t seem like a major new expansion pack such as the widely acclaimedWarlords of New Yorkis on the docket. Instead, Ubisoft is seemingly content with keeping the game running through Seasonal content updates and an occasional gameplay system refresh.
It remains unclear whether a potentialDivision 3is on Ubisoft’s radar at this time, but it’s good to see that at least one of the many attemptedDestinykiller video gamesis going to continue trucking along for a while still. With just a few days to go before the game’s next Season, Price of Power, is out, fans of the franchise have much to look forward to.
The Division 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
