People often enjoy wearing their heart on their sleeve. Well, with a new collection from Shoes That Fit, fans ofThe Boyscan wear their heart on their feet (as well as several other organs, apparently). With several bloody styles from shoe designer Kickstradamus based on individual characters, they seem to capture the visceral nature of the show and comics rather faithfully. Perhaps to a fault.

It’s no new idea to market shoes based on shows and other properties. But some might see it as a bit ill-conceived to let viewers wear apparel depicting characters from a show where many of them are, among other things, murderers and rapists. It’s not even an easily missed detail; it’s a major part of the show. However if these kicks still sounds like something worth pursuing, read on for descriptions. It wouldn’t be theweirdest thing that could come fromThe Boys, and hey, some of them are actually kind of snazzy.

Starting off with everyone’s favorite secretly psychopathic all-American “superhero,” Homelander. His shoe sports exactly what one would expect given that description, with a star-spangled design reminiscent of the American flag, speckled with a few flecks of blood for that extra violent flair. The design evokes the character’s status as, basically, a manufactured public face of justice with an evil streak just under the surface. Meanwhile, Billy Butcher’s shoe has that dark, cool vibe going on that seems to emanate from the character. Black with a shade of dark purple and small touches of contrasting brightness bring out the clever and calculating side of Butcher while slightly betraying his wilder tendencies. The subtle splatter of blood (it’s an ongoing motif) only serves to further that feel.

The character of Kimiko, who often negates her quiet, withdrawn exterior by savagely tearing a dude apart with her bare hands, is portrayed in an understated white sneaker, lightly punctuated with designs of a paper mouse and cartoon pandas, which play into her softer side. Once again, the other more “tear off a man’s head” element to her character comes across with a blood spatter, which prominently sticks out on the plain white shoe. Stormfront, in a similar fashion, features a sleek purple, black, and silver look which matches her look. However, like everyone else, she hides her more deranged side, which is represented by an iron eagle on the heel.

Frenchie gets probably the most on-the-nose design of all, with a French flag design surrounded with a military-style shade of green. Yes, in case the audience didn’t realize from his accent and name, he is extremely French. It sports a small blood spatter on the front, like the others, and it’s safe to assume from this point on that they all will. Next up, A-Train gets a look designed pretty much completely around his eye-catching blue superhero outfit. Hissuper speeddoesn’t seem to come through all that much, though the presence of the signature blood splash further back on the shoe than most of the others might be a subtle representation of it.

Next up are, to be honest, some pretty dang cool designs. Mother’s Milk, who just wants to get back to his family but won’t step down from a fight, sports a pleasing black shoe with a touch of dark maroon. The gold chain across the back adds a nice flash of color as well. Queen Maeve’s shoe, like Homelander, A-Train, and the rest of The Seven, captures hersuperherooutfit. A silver canvas with a core of reddish bronze draws the mind to her metallic and leather armor. She appears to be one of the most composed and least erratic of the group, and her design matches that.

Perhaps to make up for his status as an emotional punching bag, The Deep gets two designs. The green and black look of one slightly evokes his super suit, but seems to be more of a water motif, with its blurred, wavy design. The alternative blue and black variant keeps the same look but with a different color palette and the silhouette of a dolphin, reminiscent of his connection to sea creatures… in more ways than one would expect.

The final member of The Seven to receive a shoe is Black Noir, whose mysterious identity and overall aesthetic are portrayed with a shoe that is… very black. Blood on the front and side should be no surprise to anyone who has seen the character in action. But finally, perhaps the most important character of all gets the last design. That’s right, it’s Terror the dog. Billy Butcher’s faithful bulldog (who unfortunately has not yet appeared in the show) is known in the comics for his power to hump anything Billy asks him to. Luckily, the design simply focuses on the dog, with a black shoe surrounding a white picture of Terror’s adorable face.

So there’s a quick rundown of the shoes available in this new collection. Regardless of the questionable nature of wearing blood splattered sneakers around in public, there are some pretty slick designs knocking about. Maybe it’s for the best. At least a blood soaked shoe is a bit less unnerving than a blood soaked shirt.
