Because of Rocksteady Studios' previous success with theBatman: Arkhamseries, the world is eagerly awaiting its next project. Officially announced in August 2020,Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leagueis going to be a multiplayer action-adventure title set in the Arkhamverse. As the title suggests, players will take on the roles of four members of the Suicide Squad as they attempt to go up against a brainwashed Justice League like Batman. Details about the plot and gameplay are scarce, butif Rocksteady Studios' pedigree is anything to go by, there is a lot to be excited for when it comes to this studio’s take on villains-turned-reluctant heroes.

Just as the Rocksteady Studios name is well-known for itsBatmantitles, so too should it strive to letSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leaguestand on its own. Batman may be in the game, but his overall participation should be kept to a minimum so that other characters can have their time in the spotlight. Just as the Joker unceremoniously stole the show for one final time inBatman: Arkham Knight, Batman shouldn’t overstay his welcome in this anti-hero adventure.

Based on promotional material and descriptions for the game, players will be able to at least control Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang. Quinn and Deadshot have already been established in the Arkhamverse, butKing Shark and Captain Boomerang have yet to grace players with their skills and personalities. Each will play differently and come with their own unique abilities that players can use either solo by swapping out or cooperatively.

Since the title of the game isSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, it is safe to assume these ragtag hooligans will be the stars of this adventure. Being able to play as villains who are on a tight leach will be a welcome change of pace following theArkhamseries. Not only will players get to toy around with each character’s abilities, they will also experience events from the villains' point of view. This includes their opinions on their handler Amanda Waller, the Brainiac invasion, and most importantly, the brainwashed Justice League.

The Justice League Doesn’t Just Consist of Batman

It is currently known that Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Batman are under Brainiac’s control - all of whom can be seen getting ready to duke it out against players in promotional material. Each Justice League member will undoubtedly serve as a grand set-piece battlethat the Suicide Squad must overcome together. This means there will be multiple battles that take place throughout the game, many of which will not include Batman.

Even though Batman will undoubtedly play a big part inSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, he shouldn’t outshine the Suicide Squad or other members of the Justice League. While this is the same Batman found in Rocksteady Studios' previous games, his part as a main protagonist in the Arkhamverse is generally over. As such, he should be treated as an equal part of the Justice League alongside Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and everyone else. While this isKevin Conroy’s final performance as the Dark Knight, Batman shouldn’t be the star ofSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
