Street Fighter 5is swiftly approaching its final season of content with Season Five on the horizon. Recently, Capcom announced alive stream that would reveal new characterscoming to the game as DLC.
The live stream forStreet Fighter 5happened earlier today and players finally know what characters are coming to the game. The stream announced that Dan, Rose, Oro and Akira from the Rival School franchise will be coming to the game as DLC for Season 5.

Street Fighter 5recently saw a massive updatethroughStreet Fighter 5: Champion Edition. While the game still has some technical hiccups that need to be ironed out, the overall experience is definitely an improvement to the base edition of the game. In addition to given characters extra abilities like double V skills, it also included many balance and gameplay tweaks thatStreet Fighter 5needed. Capcom has been steadily supporting the game with new updates and an ever-growing roster.
Now, as revealed in a recent live stream, that roster will be seeing four new additional characters alongside other updates likea two week free trial for playersto jump in and try. The four new characters releasing during Season 5 are Dan Hibiki fromStreet Fighter Alpha, Rose fromStreet Fighter Alpha, Oro fromStreet Fighter 3, and Akira Kazama fromRival Schools: United By Fate. Akira is an interesting inclusion, asRival Schoolsisn’t technically aStreet Fightergame, but is set in the same universe asStreet Fighter.
The live stream also revealed the road map for Season 5 indicating when each character will be releasing. Dan is up first and will be releasing sometime in winter 2020. Next, Rose will be releasing sometime in spring of 2021, then Oro and Akira will release sometime in summer of 2021. Finally, a new unrevealed character will release in fall of 2021. Additionally, new costumes and stages will release with each wave of characters. While speculation, this DLC could possibly indicatethatStreet Fighter 6’s release timeis still far off.
Regardless, fans will still have plenty to enjoy, learn, and master inStreet Fighter 5for quite some time as the Season 5 DLC steadily rolls out in 2020 and 2021. It is important to note, however, that this will beStreet Fighter 5’s final season, so the brand new content will probably come to a halt after Season 5 is finished. Still, there’s no doubt thatStreet Fighter 5has had an amazing run over the years.
