A Reddit user by the name of CoffeeCupGoblin has shared their encounter with someStardew Valleyart in the wild. While playing the game, they noticed that there is a monster graffitied on one of the train cars that pass through on occasion, and found it strangely familiar; a real-life version of it exists in their city, and even appears in their engagement photo. One commenter identified the artwork’s creator, going by the handle katevonnegut on Reddit. Artist katevonnegut commented to congratulate CoffeeCupGoblin on their marriage and express how delighted they were that someone recognized their artwork.
CoffeeCupGoblin’s picture was taken in September 2022, so chances are the monster artwork is still somewhere in Elyria, Ohio, undisturbed. It’s likefinding aStardew ValleyEaster eggin real life.
For those who are unaware, there are several different graffiti images that can be seen on the train that passes throughStardew Valley. Some of it appears to have been done by the villagers, but how they achieved this is a mystery since the train never stops. It doesn’t all appear to be done by the same person; some train graffiti is very crude, like one that says “Seb Was Here,” while others like the monster are more artistic. Perhaps the character Leah, who is known to be an artist, is the graffiti artist, but this is pure speculation. Yet another artwork depicts stars and planets, which could be a subtle hint aboutthe presence of extraterrestrials inStardew Valley.
Stardew Valleyis available for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
