With the release of the PS5 just one week away, the release of the console’s launch titles also comes, one of which beingSpider-Man: Miles Morales. Serving as a spin-off game to one of the most well-received PS4 exclusive titles,Spider-Man: Miles Moraleslooks to build off the story, mechanics, and world that was featured in the firstSpider-Mangame. To get fans even more excited, Sony has released a new trailer to promote the release of the game.

Since its initial announcement during thePS5 design revealshowcase back in June,Spider-Man: Miles Moraleshas received quite a large amount of attention from members of the gaming community. In the months leading up to the game’s release, a multitude of teasers, additional information, and promotional material has been released for the game.

WhileInsomniac Games has provided in-game screenshotsand gameplay footage in the past, there has not been much by way of official, cinematic trailers, outside of the one that was previously shown at the PS5 reveal event. However, this new trailer released earlier today, while short in length, is still quite impressive to behold.

Despite only being thirty seconds long, it is beautifully animated and fun to watch. The trailer also shows off a neat little detail. Right before Miles gets back up and starts fighting, he hits a button on a wireless earbud and music starts playing. While it was confirmed in the trailer’s fine print that the game will not feature some sort ofDeath Strandingmusic playing feature, it does raise some questions as to what kind of added side content will be featured in the game.

It would make sense to have some game mechanics and qualities that match Miles' personality. For example, the previousSpider-Mangame featured a photo modethat played off of Peter Parker’s love for photography or the backpacks he left behind while he was in high school that served as collectibles. Maybe inMiles Morales, there will be similar mechanics by way of collectibles or in-game mechanics that coincide with who Miles is as a person.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what new directions Insomniac takes with this newSpider-Mangame. The developers confirmed back in late October thatthe game would feature no additional playable characters outside of Miles Morales, so it will be curious to see what kind of outside content will be featured alongside the main story missions. Thankfully, those curious won’t have to wait much longer.

Spider-Man: Miles Moralesis set to launch on November 12th, 2020 for PS4 and PS5.
