Summary

World of Warcraft’s Primal Storms have been acting strangely over the past several days, with the event occasionally spawning twice at once, or not popping up at all. This erratic behavior has made it difficult for someWorld of Warcraftplayers to complete its accompanying achievements.

The Primal Storms are one of the first world eventsWorld of Warcraftadded inDragonflight. This activity periodically spawns around theDragonflightzones, empowering enemies with the elements, spawning special bosses, and dropping a unique type of currency called Elemental Overflow. Into the Storm, an achievement with four sub-achievements within it, is required to unlock A World Awoken, a newWorld of Warcraftmeta achievement thatawards the Taivan mount.

However, ever since the weekly reset that began on April 2, the Primal Storms have been acting erratically, causing confusion and frustration among fans. For a short while, the event began spawning two storms at once, making it much easier to find the appropriate elements and locations for players to finish their achievements. Then, about 75 hours after the reset, the double storm events ceased – and for a short while, no Primal Storms spawned at all. At press time, the activity has gone back to spawning one at a time, much to the disappointment of fans trying to earn Into the Storm.

Primal Storms Achievements in WoW: Dragonflight

The Storm Chaser achievement is the culprit behind this frustration, as players must kill enemies in Primal Storms of each element in each thefourWoW: Dragonflightzones. Unfortunately, the Azure Span has more Primal Storms spawn points than Thaldraszus, the Ohn’ahran Plains, or the Waking Shores, meaning it appears there three to six times as often, making it hard to complete this requirement.

WhenDragonflightfirst added the Primal Storms toWorld of Warcraft, two storms would spawn at a time. However, asDragonflightadded more world activities in subsequentWoWpatches, the number of Primal Storms was reduced to one spawn. Now that players have a renewed interest in the Primal Storms to earn the new A World Awoken meta achievement, the dearth of event spawns, combined with the seeming fake out of increasing their rate again, has been felt more keenly than it otherwise would have been.

Hopefully,World of Warcraftcan figure out the Primal Storms event spawning issue, and ideally restore it to having two event spawns for a time to help players earn this achievement. At the very least, there is no time limit on earning A World Awoken, so fans can work on theotherWorld of Warcraftachievementswhile they wait for the right spawns.
