InSomerville’s second chapter, players will begin to take control of the game’s characters. However, exactly what fans are to do with these characters may not be immediately obvious, and there are several points in Chapter 2 where they may get stuck. Somerville: Chapter 2 Walkthrough
At the beginning of Chapter 2, players will take control of a child who is asleep on a couch with his parents. Fans ofsci-fi gamesshould lead this child behind the couch and through thedoor on the leftto enter a room with several blocks on the floor. There is atable against the back wallin this room, and players should approach it and press the input that appears onscreen to pick up alamp.

This lamp should now be taken to the right side of the room with the sleeping parents to illuminate atoy box. Players should approach this toy box and follow the onscreen prompts to pull a box out of it. This box can be scaled in order to get over the gate that blocks the child’s access to thekitchenon the right.
Upon entering the kitchen, players should pull out thetwo drawersthat are marked with yellow on the right side of the room. Fans ofatmospheric video gamesshould use those drawers to get the child onto the counter and then move him to the nearbywindow. At this point, players should press the interact input to open the window and conclude their time controlling the child.
Fans will now take control of the father, and they should pass through the room on the left, where the lamp was previously, and use the door on the left side toexit the house. Players should then approach the nearbydoghouseand interact with it, allowing the dog to fetch the bowl that is within it. Once the dog has its bowl, fans should reenter the house, navigate to thekitchen, and open thedoorthat is along the back wall.
There are stairs beyond this door, which players should use to reach thebasement. Fans ofindie gamesshould then grab the bag ofdog foodthat is sitting on the shelf and return to the kitchen. The father will drop the dog food promptly upon entering thekitchen, and players should go backoutsideand investigate the large object that has hit the ground after that occurs.
Fans should now make their way back to thekitchen, pick up thebagthat is sitting on the counter on the right side of the room, and gooutsidewith the family. Players should then walk toward the car in thegarage, which will ultimately explode. Following this explosion, fans ofadventure gamesshould return to thebasementand crouch on the left side of the room with the family.
Not long after reaching this position, abodywill crash through the basement’s ceiling. Fans ofcinematic video gamesshould approach this body from its left side and press the interact input to grab its hand. This action will trigger a short cutscene, which will mark the end ofSomerville’ssecond chapter.
