ASkyrimplayer online has pointed out a crazy detail about the water in the game, that virtually no one would ever come across in a regular playthrough. Many players only use the water surfaces forfishing inSkyrim, but it turns out there’s another use for it.
Over the years, it has become apparent just how much effort Bethesda really put into its classic RPG. Upon its release,Skyrimfaced a lot of criticism along the lines of “wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle,” but time has been very kind to the game. So much of the detail was simply hidden away that gamers didn’t yet realize how much detail had actually been included. Sometimes, there is no defined answer, only adding to the mysteries.

Redditor jimbo3557 came across the remarkable detail, that players are actually able to boil water inSkyrim. This can be done by using some ofSkyrim’s fire spellson the surface of the water, creating a burst of steam. It’s unclear if it works with other destruction spells such as Lightning Bolt, but the fact it has been included anyway is amazing.
Gamers in the thread were curious about how water would interact with other elements, so decided to test it for themselves. One player asked, “Can you freeze it?” while another user verified that it doesn’t freeze at all. Others pointed out the irony thatSkyrimplayers are able to boil water, but aren’t able to start a fire within fire pits. It’s definitely a small oversight, and a sign that despite the level of detail in the game, Bethesda didn’t think of absolutely everything possible.
