ASkyrimplayer has shown off perhaps the cutest discovery ever made in the game.Skyrimhas lots of tiny detailsfor players to uncover throughout their multiple playthroughs, but this could be the most adorable one.

When the game initially came out in 2011, the idea that players would still be finding new and interesting things to discussSkyrimall the way to 2023 would have seemed crazy. Admittedly, a lot of the new discoveries are small, but others are just simply hilarious, such as theSkyrimplayer who collapsed after eating all of the game’s alchemy ingredientsat the same time. That doesn’t take away from just how brilliant it is that gamers are still enamored enough by the world ofSkyrimto be making new discoveries within it all these years later.

The post by Redditor 2022-worst-year-ever shows a collection of deadmudcrabs inSkyrim. However, amidst it all, the player finds a “Juvenile Mudcrab,” which is a tiny pocket-sized mudcrab that they are able to pick up and take along on their adventures. It is in the game as part of a quest, where if given to an NPC it grows into a fully-grown mudcrab over a period of time. It’s a great detail that furthers the player’s relationship with the world ofSkyrim.

Gamers in the thread shared their own experiences with the “Juvenile Mudcrab.” Bizarrely, there was one experience that seemed to be common inSkyrim. It seems that a lot of gamers were aware of the tiny mudcrab, but have managed to accidentally eat the little guy when attempting to take him out of their inventory. Within the context ofSkyrim’s 2011 user interface, it’s definitely easy to do by accident, but it has some morbid implications for this cute discovery.

As the master of detail, Bethesda has a lot to live up to withThe Elder Scrolls 6. Presuming the game doesn’t release for a few years yet, if it has a similar lifespan in the mainstream toSkyrimthere is a very real scenario where players are discussing the sequel well into the 2040s, which seems absurd.Potential features ofThe Elder Scrolls 6might still be up for debate among the community, but there’s no doubt the game will have a focus on Bethesda’s trademark attention to detail. Players will know more after the release ofStarfield, when hopefully the marketing for theElder Scrollssequel will finally begin to heat up.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Editionis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
