Reddit user mojoswoptops2020 is one such player who leveraged the sophisticated creation tools ofFar Cry 5’s famous map editor mode to recreate one of the most memorable places fromSkyrim,the Western Watchtower. The user spent more than four hours in the map editor to bringSkyrim’s Western Watchtower to the world ofFar Cry 5. Fellow Redditors were highly impressed by mojoswoptops2020’s creation, as many initially believed they were looking at a modded version ofSkyrim. Interestingly, many Reddit users were unaware of the map editor mode inFar Cry 5.
For those who don’t know, the Western Watchtower is a stone tower in the western part ofSkyrim’sWhiterun area and is used by the Whiterun Guard. The building makes its first appearance in the “Dragon Rising” quest, after which it can be seen as a map icon. The tower appears destroyed if players attempt to visit it before the aforementioned quest. Whiterun is among the most popular areas fromSkyrimas many people have tried to recreate it in other games. OneSkyrimfan created Whiterun inValheim, for example, while another one brought it into the world ofSims 4.
This is not the first time that gamers have usedFar Cry 5’s map editor mode to design memorable locations from other games. Gamers have previously created more sites fromSkyriminFar Cry 5, including Breezehome, while anotherfan designed the canyon area fromResident Evil 4inFar Cry 5using the same creation tools.
Far Cry 5’s map editor mode is considered by many to be one of the best in class, as evident by these numerous examples of people creating iconic places. Naturally, most fans were disappointed by the lack of a map editor feature inFar Cry 6.
