Silent Hillis a popular horror franchise that has not received a new title sinceSilent Hill: Book of Memories, released almost 10 years ago, back in 2012.Silent Hillis once again in the spotlight as a new rumor has emerged suggesting a revival. If the rumors are to be believed Konami has outsourced the property to multiple development studios.
Silent Hill, because of its popularity, has consistently been rumored to be in development by different development studios. Fans themselves have also gotten involved. Earlier this year, there was a largecontroversy surrounding Blue Box Studiosabout whether or not they were developing aSilent Hillreboot after a series of tweets that suggested that could be the case. Fans immediately jumped on this rumor, searching for evidence to prove Blue Box Studios was involved. Although that rumor hasn’t panned out, a new rumor points to Konami outsourcing the franchise to different multiple development studios.

According to an anonymous source that spoke to VGC, Konami is set to revive its popular franchises includingMetal Gear Solid,Castlevania, andSilent Hill.TheSilent Hillrumor goes back to Februarywhen Bloober Team announced that they have been working on a major horror franchise with a famous publisher. Of course, many immediately thought ofSilent Hillthat has been rumored to be in the works for quite some time. The rumor from VGC, however, suggests that Bloober Team might not be the only developers on the franchise. VGC was told that another Japanese developer was also working on aSilent Hillproject.
If these rumors are to be believed, Bloober Team will have been working on the horror franchise for more than two years come February. This could potentially lead to an E3 2022 showing or even earlier.Konami skipped E3 2021, but teased that it was developing a number of key projects. Konami also teased that it will have announcements in the coming months.
Asmore and moreSilent Hillprojects are rumored, it feels as though fans will have an answer very soon as to whether or not there is any merit to them. Ever since the frightening 2014Silent HillsdemoP.T., fans have been craving for another installment in the franchise. If multipleSilent Hillprojects are in the works, that could also suggest that fans won’t have to wait long in between installments.
Now, this is all just a rumor. It’s not known exactly when these projects will be showcased. It’s also not known whether or not these projects by multiple developers will tie into one another or not, although the idea of multiple developers each working onSilent Hillproject at the same time would probably suggest otherwise unless they’re remakes. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait much longer for confirmation.
