The House of the Dead: Remakeis being developed by Forever Entertainment and Megapixel Studio, set for release on April 7. The release forthe remake is for Stadia and Nintendo Switchwith physical releases to follow, but now there are upcoming rumors that the PlayStation 4 will also join the release roster.

The remake’s release trailer shows the Switch’s capability, but PS4 servers have currently got a tile image that bears theHouse of the Deadremake reveal. All advertised gameplay keeps a lot of the original’s features, with players taking on hordes of undead monsters in a fast-paced rail shooter environment. A recent Nintendo Q+A went into detail about how the Switch makes up for the updated controls, such as “gyro aiming controls combined with analog buttons.”
AHouse of the Deadremake has been in the works since 2019, aiming to rebuild the experience from the ground up for the current gaming generation. An eagle-eyed Reddit user posted the revelation that an entry forThe House of the Dead: Remakehad been published on the tail end of the PlayStation Network, under the following title and concept IDs of “CUSA29479_00” and “10003342”.
These details hint at the copyright for a port of the remake coming to PS4, but the lack of confirmation still leaves the rumor floating about until an official source can confirm or deny. Even ifHouse of the Deadwill be ported to PS4, current release dates for physical editions will be May 26 in Europe and June 14 in North America. Therefore, such a sudden reveal implies PS4 users may have to wait even longer to get their hands on reliving a slice of arcade nostalgia.
Nintendo’s Q+A helpfully outlined other featuresfor the re-imaginedHouse of the Deadgame, which promises a high level of enjoyment for gamers. If the rumors are confirmed, PS4 gamers will be able to enjoy the upgraded graphics, additional modes, and modernized gameplay for themselves.
