Not all weapons in theRE4remake cost a fortune; some are just lying on the ground waiting to be picked up. Like the originalResident Evil 4, the remake comes with a handful of free guns and knives that are either abandoned, sealed behind a puzzle, or owned by a boss. But there’s a catch: The game doesn’t expose these secret weapons’ locations, and mostRE4players need a guide like this to obtain them.

List of Free Weapons in RE4 Remake
Knives included, there are six free weapons in the remake ofResident Evil 4: W-870, Red9, CQBR, LE 5, Primal Knife, and Fighting Knife. The first two—W-870 and Red9—can be obtained in Chapters 1 and 4. The rest require either solving puzzles or killing specific enemies.
W-870 (Shotgun)
The W-870 is a free shotgun found in the first Chapter of theRE4remake. At max, it has 10.1 power, enough to blow up a Ganado’s head. Toget the W-870, the player must enter the third house on the left in Village Square and pick it up on the second floor. (It’s in the same spot as the original game.)
Red9 (Handgun)
The Red9 is a 9mm semi-automatic, resembling a World War 1 pistol, the Mauser C96. It is the second free weapon found in the village, which comes with max power of 2.70. Toget the Red9, the player will need to get on the deck of the wrecked ship in the middle of the Lake.
CQBR (Assault Rifle)
As the fastest assault rifle in the game, the CQBR is one of the best free weapons. It has a base power of 2.00, which increases to 3.4 at level 5. To get it, the player will need to revisit the Library where Ashley found the keys. Apuzzle on the wall conceals CQBR, which is solved by inserting a Cubic Key in the cavity.
LE 5 (SMG)
Of all the SMGs in theRE4remake, LE 5 is the most popular. It has a reliable 1.20 firepower and is rapid enough to take down even Regeneradors. To get the LE 5, the player will need tosolve the Freezer puzzle in Chapter 13.
Primal Knife
Thanks to its 1.20 power and exclusive indestructibility perk, the Primal Knife is the best free melee weapon in theRE4remake. It can parry the strongest attacks and kill even the toughest enemies with a few stabs without breaking mid-battle. Toget the Primal Knife, the player must destroy all 16 Clockwork Castellans.
There isone hidden Castellan in each Chapterof the game; destroying all will add the Primal Knife to the Storage.
Fighting Knife
Power-wise, an upgraded Fighting Knife is the strongest melee weapon in the game. Its power maxes out at 3.60, enough to kill a Ganado with a stab or two. To get the Fighting Knife, the player will need todefeat Krauser in Chapter 14.
List of Free Weapon Attachments
Aside from the free guns, there are also two freeweapon attachments in theRE4remakethat some players might miss. The first is a regular Scope that becomes available in Chapter 2, and the other is the Biosensor Scope found in Chapter 13.
Scope
The Scope is a 2x sight that the Merchant offers for free in Chapter 2. But to get it, the player will first need topurchase the SR M1903for 12,000 Pesetas.
Biosensor Scope
TheBiosensor Scope can be found for freein Chapter 13, where the player finds LE 5. It’s in the Incubation Lab, passed the Dissection door.
