SomeDiablo 4players are calling for Blizzard to include a simple quality-of-life feature that would be a big improvement to the overall gameplay experience by slightly tweaking the way portals work. Their pleas emerged online shortly after the fandom shared agreat idea for tracking world bosses inDiablo 4.

Much like the past installments in the franchise,Diablo 4features a plethora of portals that can be used for navigating its world. Its fast travel system revolves around Town Portals, which are located at the center of every settlement. And while many players praised the game’s move to a full-fledged open world, others argued thatDiablo 4’sworld map is a double-edged sword, not least because it inhibits both content variety and ease of travel.

Some players have consequently started asking Blizzard to add an option to set a default town when portaling out of a location, arguing that this simple tweak to the game’s most convenient fast travel option would significantly improve their overall experience. In a viral post from June 19, Reddit user MoribundNight called some ofDiablo 4city layouts “absolute trash,” adding that they would much rather teleport to their pre-set home settlement with a click of a button. Right now, players can only conveniently warp to the main town of whatever region they’re currently exploring.

For clarity, the game does support fast travel to any one of its towns from the world map, but many players find the current version of that interface cumbersome due to themassive size ofDiablo 4’sopen world. Others have posited that the map itself is buggy, concluding they’d much rather warp to their town of choice without having to look for it every single time.

Others still argued that the ability to set a default teleport location would turn some of the game’s settlements into ghost towns, as most players would likely end up choosing the smallest and most accessible locations as their go-to warping destinations. And while many players discussing this proposal agreed with that basic sentiment, some of them used it to underline how Blizzard could have done a much better job at designing compactDiablo 4town layouts which aren’t a chore to traverse.

It remains to be seen whether this quality-of-life feature suggestion amounts to anything. However, the calls for its inclusion are just the latest in a long list ofplayer complaints aboutDiablo 4’sUIthat the fandom has been voicing online since the game was still in beta.

Diablo 4is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
