Red Dead Redemption 2proves that the wild west is worthy of its namesake, as players have captured dozens of outrageous moments within the game on video. One hidden detail that has gone mostly undiscussed, however, sees certainRed Dead Redemption 2NPCs behaving like Arthur himself.
The detail was captured by Perorizek158 in r/GamingDetails and sees a lengthy gunfight play out just as it normally would inRed Dead Redemption 2. Unsurprisingly, Van Der Linde gang member Arthur Morgan wins the fight, only to see an NPC begin looting the various bodies littered around the area. While one player’sArthur was punished for a despicable actin the past, this NPC seems to get away with the thievery scot-free.

However, fans quickly came to realize that the looter was no ordinary NPC, but rather a companion of Arthur’s and another member of the game. Sean MacGuire, the lovable Irish troublemaker, is the one searching the bodies near the protagonist. This discovery was made by ItzSaul, who commented on the original post that first showed the looting. The Redditor theorized that “only members of the gang can do this,” something that would make thisRed Dead Redemption 2detaileven more impressive.
It is nice to see new details, Easter eggs, and dialogue being discovered two years after the game’s release, but with the time players are still putting into the game, every small detail is sure to be discovered over time. With one player’s dad managing tobeatRed Dead Redemption 230 times, Rockstar’s complex open world has been explored countless times — and will likely continue to be searched through just as heavily for the foreseeable future.
Seeing Rockstar care enough to make NPCs loot bodies shows an incredible eye for detail, as many players would never notice the dirty deed take place in their games. The looting fits the crime-filled world ofRed Dead Redemption 2, one that is just as populated with villains in the game’s online play. Withcruel acts happening inRed Dead Online, as well as this clip of what NPCs may do to dead bodies once Arthur leaves the scene of a crime, the game’s world is clearly a dangerous place.
While some players would still love to see the lawless land overrun byzombies in anUndead Nightmare 2, the word ofRed Dead Redemptionalready seems plenty hostile as is. Next time players go into battle with Sean, though, they may want to grab the loot from enemies before he does.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
