Having a decent amount of content to explore and complete is important to keep players interested in any online game, but time-limited events and bonuses are also a big part of the online gaming scene. By changing up the available perks and bonuses on a regular basis, players end up checking back in regularly, keeping the game interesting for everyone.
With that in mind,Red Dead Onlinehas now unveiled its monthly bonuses. Players logging intoRed Dead Onlinethis month will be able to acquire some free clothing, get some discounts on weapons and equipment, and gain bonuses for partaking in certain activities.

Red Dead Online’s May bonuses see a heavy emphasis on racing. Standard races will reward players with 4X RDO$, Open races with 3X Gold, and Target Races with 5X XP. These significant buffs to rewards will likely see a lot of players prepping their fastest horses to join in, and they’ll have some incentive to pick up new horses and horse tack, too.Stable feesare waived for the entire month, plus a 50% discount is available on new stable slots and stirrups, while the cost on war and race horses has been slashed by 30%.
Of course, there’s also some bonuses for those who aren’t interested in racing. SelectBlood Moneycontracts and all free roam missions are also offering a bonus of 2X RDO$ and XP for players for the entire month.
Players who have been saving up for certain purchases should also consider checking if they’re discounted. Pistols and emotes are 30% off, skirts and pants 40% off, and theBounty Hunter Reinforced Lassois 50% off. In addition to that, a series of clothing is being given away for free, based off an outfit assembled on theRed Deadfashion subreddit.
Unfortunately, the monthly update isn’t releasing any significant new content or missions for players to partake in. Players have been calling on Rockstar Games to show more support for its online Old West shooter for some time now, and hope was rekindled that improvements might be on the way following the release of a fairly largeRed Dead Onlinepatch. However, nothing significant seems to have been added in this particular update. Fans will have to wait and see if therumored rustling missionsare added in the future.
Getting more out of grinding a mission or buying something for less is always appreciated by online gaming communities. However, with the announcement ofGTA 6and the rumor ofRed Dead Redemption 3’s development, some are worried thatRed Dead Online’s best days have already come and gone.Red Dead Online’s playerbase may remain dissatisfied with Rockstar until the day new content is added to the game.
Red Dead Onlineis available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
