While thePS5is arguably the most impressive piece of gaming hardware Sony has created yet, the console is not without its issues. Various users encountered problems with thePS5during the first several weeks of the console’s run. Most of them have since been patched out, but the PS5 has been suffering from a noise issue for quite some time now.
For most PlayStation users, this should come as no surprise. In the past,PS4owners reported loud noises coming from the console whenever a disc was running, which sometimes distracted players while using the console. The issue was later rectified by way of the PS4 Pro, but now it has been causing issues for PS5 users as well, albeit to a seemingly much lesser degree. However, it seems PS5 players may not have to put up with this noise issue anymore.

The PS5 recently received a software update, wherein the volume of the spinningPS5 Blu-Raydisc was softened more than it previously was. While this is not an outright fix, it should certainly make the experience of playing on the console less distracting. This will be sure to make a multitude of PS5 owners happy.
In addition to the console software update, thePS5 DualSense controller also received a software update. There haven’t been any patch notes that necessarily allude to what the update might do for the controller, but it’s likely various bugs and performance issues regarding the DualSense controller will be fixed as a result.
It’s nice to see that Sony has continued to remain reactive in terms of the PS5. When the console first released last November, there were a number ofknown launch problems for the PS5, but since that time developers have done what they could to rectify software issues players have run into. The console has still only been out for a couple of months, so it’s likely that more issues could arise going forward.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds in terms of the PS5. ThePS5 had a strong line-up of launch gamesfor players to enjoy, and there are even more games set to release in the coming year. With highly anticipated titles such asHorizon Forbidden West, God of War: Ragnarok,andFinal Fantasy 16releasing at some point in the future,PS5owners certainly have a lot to look forward to.
