Sony’s PlayStation 5 is set to launch this coming holiday season, but much about the next-generation console is still being kept secret. So far, Sony has only shown the logo and teased some vaguePS5 hardware features, but fans are hungry for more. While fans wait for Sony to show off some official PS5 information, others have decided to fill the void with their own concepts, like YouTube channel Paul Manso Animation.
Paul Manso Animation has created a PS5 startup concept that is being very well-received by fans. The startup begins with an updated version of the classic PlayStation logo and the iconic sound that goes with it. It then transitions to a blue screen with thePS5 logo, asking players to press the PlayStation button on their controller to continue. The screen is reminiscent of the PS4’s startup screen, which makes sense.

As for when PlayStation fans will get to see the actualPS5startup screen, that remains to be seen. Right now, one of the prevailing theories is that Sony is planning a full-fledged PS5 reveal during a special February 2020 PlayStation event where it will show off the console’s design, games, and more.
Other rumors claim that therumored PS5 February reveal eventwill have a lot more details than fans would expect. There have been some claims that Sony will go as far as to announce the PS5 price at the event, along with its release date and when fans can pre-order. Typically console manufacturers would wait until much later in the year to announce these kinds of details, so fans shouldn’t hold their breath.
All we know for certain about the PS5’s release plans is that the console is coming holiday 2020. If the rumored PS5 February reveal event is real, then fans can expect more information to come then, otherwise they may have to wait until this coming summer. There are rumors thatSony is skipping E3 2020, but if those rumors prove to be untrue, then it seems likely that Sony will use the show to give the PS5 a proper unveiling.
When Sony does decide to show off the PS5, it will be interesting to see if it decides to give fans a glimpse of the actual startup screen. Hopefully it’s as satisfying as the one put together by Paul Manso Animation.
