A couple of days ago,Sony surprisingly revealed the controllerof its next-generation console, the PlayStation 5. The company revealed that the controller will be making a departure from the DualShock branding and will be called DualSense instead. Apart from the many features of the DualSense such as haptic feedback and force triggers, its design is somewhat similar to the DualShock 4 apart from slight modifications and a two-tone color scheme.

Now that players already have an idea about what the new controller would look like, many are still wondering about the design of the actual console. Although the PlayStation 5 has been revealed last year,Sony is still tight-lipped in showcasing the designof its next-generation console. Thankfully, some creative people have made their own concepts of the PS5’s design, to give PS fans an idea of what the console could look like.

A series of concept images made and designed by Giuseppe Spinelli (Snoreyn) that was licensed to LetsGoDigital showed a possible design of the PS5 that is inspired by the appearance of theDualSense. The artist made two versions of the concept design showcasing the console in either an all-black or all-white color scheme. Similar to the controller, the console is designed to have a light bar on top to match the modern and sleek look of the DualSense.

Additionally, the layout of the front of the console bears a striking resemblance to that of the PS4, where the disc drive and USB ports are located. All other inputs such as HDMI, ethernet, and many others are located at the back. In the concept image, it appears that the console can stand either vertically or horizontally, similar to the PS4. Of course, while the concept design made by Snoreyn is unofficial, it wouldn’t be unlikely ifthe PS5’s actual designwould end up looking similar, especially since Snoreyn’s work is inspired by the official design of the DualSense, which is likely to match the PlayStation 5.

As of the moment, there is still no word on when Sony plans to reveal the PlayStation 5 itself. However, the recent showcase of the DualSense controller would probably mean that the company may reveal the console design soon, especially since it has been announced that thePS5’s release date will still fall on Holiday 2020despite the worldwide disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
