If a recent rumor from Riddler Khu is to be believed (and translated correctly), it seems Aipom and Gligar will be getting new regional forms, or regional fakes, inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC. Though, to be clear, it is also as likely that any purple Pokemon could be getting this treatment inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.Regional Fakes is a term many fans may have heard by now, but for the uninitiated, it’s technically a new Pokemon that looks like an old Pokemon.Paldean Wooper, for example, is a simple regional variantof Wooper. Toedscool, which looks like Tentacool, and Wiglett, which looks like Diglett, are technically new Pokemon that diverged from older Pokemon, which Khu and many fans have called Regional Fakes.RELATED:Build-a-Bear Reveals First Pokemon Scarlet and Violet PlushNow, according to Riddler Khu, at least one purple Pokemon is getting a Regional Fake that turns it green. This isn’t narrowed down by much, as there is more than a handful of purple Pokemon in the franchise, but it’s worth noting thatPokemon Scarlet and Violethave put emphasis on two purple Pokemon in their limited marketing for the DLC so far.Aipom and Gligar are version exclusives inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, so it stands to reason that the other version (if not the same) would feature a regional fake of these Pokemon that are green. After all,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers can get Diglett in the games, despite the presence of Wiglett.

Of course, what that could mean and how that shakes out remains to be seen. Assuming Aipom and Gligar are indeed correct, fans can assume each regional fake to have a distinct, but similar, look to their counterparts. They will also have a new type, and with the emphasis being on green, one of them (if not both of them) could be something like a Grass-Type. SinceGligar is based on a scorpion, it would make sense to see a Gligar Regional Fake become a Ground/Grass-type, while perhaps Aipom could turn into a lazy monkey instead of a hyperactive one, tying into this type somehow.

Ultimately, Riddler Khu (despite their reliability and proven track record) has a tendency to never be straightforward with their leaks. Therefore, until something is actually confirmed, Pokemon fans should treat this as allPokemon Scarlet and Violetrumors and leaks: as just that and nothing more.
