How the Pokemon GO Interface Makes Players Overlook Things

Redditor ItzzStrikerr shared on r/pokemongo their unfortunate experience of transferring a Shiny Elekid that they recently hatched.Transfers inPokemon GOare permanent, as once a Pokemon is sent to Professor Willow, a player can’t get it back through any means. ItzzStrikerr didn’t explain further in the comments, but one fellow player surmised that they must have accidentally ignored the pop-up message in the game that specifically lets them know that the Pokemon is a Shiny. Another player shared that they had fallen into the same trap of inadvertently transferring a Shiny, as they tend to ignore the pop-ups, which normally signify whether the Pokemon is an XXS or XXL. It also doesn’t help that the Shiny Elekid is only a slightly different shade of neon yellow, which is nearly indistinguishable from the original.

While getting a Shiny Pokemon is extremely hard if one is actively looking for one, it’s not impossible.Shiny Legendary and Mythical Pokemon inPokemon GOare the most difficult to find, with low odds of 1/20 when going after five-star raids, but with enough preparation, they can be farmed. On the other hand, one can wait for the aforementioned Special Events, where the spawn rates of certain Pokemon are boosted.

Fortunately, there’s always something to do inPokemon GO,so there’s often a chance for players to get the Pokemon they want, including Shinies. TheJune 2024 schedule forPokemon GOhas a wide variety of Raids featuring different Pokemon, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Alakazam, and Mega Pidgeot, as well as legendaries like Landorus, Zapdos, Ho-Oh, and Yveltal, among many others. It’s also safe to expect even more Special Events that bring more Pokemon as the game’s eighth anniversary in July draws nearer.
