Summary
APokemonfan created a futuristic mecha version of Skarmory. The Steel andFlying-type Pokemonis known for its armor-like body, which made the reimagining much more fitting.
Skarmory is nicknamed the “Armor Bird Pokemon” because of its steel wings and razor-sharp feathers. Its Pokedex entries in variousPokemongames describe it as having an ironclad body. But despite its heavy armor, it still manages to fly at speeds over 180mph. Some entries also detail that Skarmory often battles viciously with Corviknight, another avian Pokemon, over territory.

Skarmory’s fierceness has won over manyPokemonfans, even creating unique works of art inspired by it, likeSkarmory in human form. This includes Reddit user shunixe, who recently shared their rendition of a mecha Skarmory, complete with a metal-plated body and its signature sharp red wings. Their version of Skarmory could pass as one of the characters inZoidsor anyGundamseries. They have also created mecha versions of many other Pokemon.
The artist also shared their mecha Skarmory on their Twitter and Instagram pages, where they garnered compliments from fellowPokemonfans. Many fans also said that shunixe’s Skarmory looks like it could be a Paradox Pokemon from the future, even suggesting the name Iron Wings or Iron Talons.Paradox Pokemonfrom the future are exclusive toPokemon Violet, which are essentially futuristic relatives of contemporary Pokemon.
WhenPokemon Scarlet and Violetintroduced Paradox Pokemon more than a year ago, many players loved the unique appearances of some of their favorite Pokemon. Compared to Shiny Pokemon, which are normally just color-swapped versions of Pokemon, Paradox Pokemon have slightly different designs to match the eras they’re from. Future Pokemon will often have metallic features, while Ancient Pokemon could be compared to the games' version of dinosaurs.
In the past, many fans have created their own Paradox versions of Pokemon. Sometimes, fan art can even predict the Paradox designs of Pokemon, like this one fan who accuratelypredicted Raikou’s Paradox versionmonths before it was revealed that Raging Bolt (Paradox Raikou) was coming to the Indigo Disk DLC. Many Pokemon like Skarmory still don’t have Paradox versions, and it’s still unknown ifPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill add more in future DLCs, but hope might not be lost. Considering how well-received Paradox Pokemon were whenPokemon Scarlet and Violetwere released, Game Freak might just include them again or introduce new ones in future games.
