OnePokemonfan’s illustration is quickly gaining traction online, showing Xurkitree’s immense height by comparing it to Charizard. While many people who are familiar withPokemonwould likely think a creature like Charizard would be one of the larger ones to exist, it actually pales in comparison to some from later generations. This is the case with Xurkitree, which completely towers over the fan-favorite Pokemon.
An Electric-type first debuting in the seventh generation, Xurkitree is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokemon. Xurkitree is also codenamed UB-03 Lightning, as it is one of theUltra Beasts introduced inPokemon SunandMoon, a special group of extradimensional Pokemon that came through a wormhole from Ultra Space.

The impressive and enlightening fan drawing appears to have first shown up on aPokemonsubreddit, posted by user and creator u/ellal1321. The image shows a Xurkitree standing next to a bewildered Charizard, in shock of just how gigantic the Pokemon standing next to it is. The artist has also provided height measurements next to each Pokemon, with Charizard apparently just an average human height of 5 feet 7 inches. Xurkitree, however, stands at a much more intimidating 12 feet 6 inches, more than twice as tall.
The drawing has gotten a strong fan response, garnering well over 2,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Plenty of fans have populated the comments section as well, with some stating that the catchable Xurkitrees are only the “saplings” compared to how large a size the Pokemon can potentially grow to. At the Ultra Plant, the home of Xurkitree and a locationexclusively available inPokemon Ultra SunandUltra Moon, the Pokemon can reach sizes that rival skyscrapers or even the landscape itself.
Although the catchable form of Xurkitree is a massive 12 and-a-half feet, it doesn’t even crack thetop 22 biggest Pokemon of all time. Several of the other Ultra Beasts are a substantially larger size, with Guzzlord and Stakataka both measuring 18 feet tall, and Celesteela an astonishing 30 feet, putting Xurkitree on the shorter end of the spectrum. The biggest Pokemon ever is Eternatus, measuring a whopping 65 feet long, and an astounding 328 feet long when Dynamaxed.
While it’s unclear if and when the Ultra Beasts will return to a mainlinePokemontitle, fans have thenew Terestal Pokemon inPokemon ScarletandVioletto look forward to. The newest gimmick of the franchise allows Pokemon to transform in to a jewel-like form, with 18 Tera types available to give Pokemon an edge in battle. While the new feature won’t make Pokemon as tall as Xurkitree, it certainly is an eye-pleasing feature for thePokemonfranchise.
