As it has done in years past,PlayStationis jumping in on the fun of The Game Awards by helping gamers save some money. The Game Awards sale is now live on the PlayStation Store, with discounts on over 100 games, including some first time sales on this year’s biggestPlayStationreleases.

One of the best things about The Game Awards is its trickle down effect on the consumers just looking to play video games. WhilePlayStation already has its “End of Year” Salein full spring, there’s no such thing as too many discounts, with The Game Awards hitting those games that may have been missed in the first deal. Other video game publishers tend to offer similar Game Awards promotions, with both Xbox and Nintendo recently launching their own events. Third-party games tend to hit the discount rack faster than first-party games, but this time around may be the perfect opportunity to score some of the PS4 and PS5’s best games.

PlayStation’s Game Awards sale is live now through December 13 at 3 PM EST, featuring many incredible deals on a variety of games. As mentioned, Sony’s exclusive titles have a very strong showing here, like Arkane Studio’sDeathloopfor 50% off at $29.99,Kena: Bridge of Spiritsfor 30% off at $27.99, andReturnalfor 29% off at $49.69. Unfortunately, games likeRatchet and Clank: Rift ApartorMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moralesaren’t included in this sale. The majority ofThe Game Awards Game of the Year nomineesare featured here though, withResident Evil Villagedown 50% to just $29.99,It Takes Twoat 38% off for only $24.79, andPsychonauts 2for $38.99, down 35%.

Many of 2021 greatest third-party releases have spots in this sale too. The big FPS combo ofBattlefield 2042(PS4 and PS5 bundle) andCall of Duty: Vanguard - Ultimate Editionare on sale for $48.99 and $79.99 respectively. Fans of sports games can snagNBA 2K22for 50% off at $34.99 (PS5),Riders Republicfor 40% off at $35.99 (PS4 and PS5 bundble), andFIFA 22for 40% off at $41.99 (PS5). This is also a great opportunity to check out games that one might’ve been unable to get to like one of2020’s Games of the Year winners inHades, down 20% for just $19.99, or notable remasters likeMass Effect: Legendary Editionfor 50% off at $29.99.

This is an overall very strong sale that discounts many of 2021’s most talked about games. It is refreshing to see PlayStation mark down a lot of its first-party titles when companies likeNintendo hardly discounted any of its first-party gamesin the same sale. Just goes to show how two different companies approach their exclusive games: one willing to mark them down fairly, knowing it will recoup a lot of money through sales, while the other prefers perpetuating the high asking price for its games, and the level of quality that comes with it. All that’s left is to see whatPlayStationdoes at The Game Awards 2021.
