Storage has been one of the hot topics of the current console generation.With the increase in file sizes, fans have had to be clever with how they choose to use their console’s storage, whether it’s keeping as few games installed as possible or upgrading the internal storage of their new consoles. Thankfully, fans looking to play the upcoming PlayStation console exclusive beat-em-upSifuwon’t have to worry about reserving space for the title, as its file size has been revealed, and it’s one of the smallest for a big release in a long time.
Sifuwas first revealed during a State of Play presentation in early 2021. The game is being developed by Sloclap, the studio behind 2017’s breakout beat-em-up fighting gameAbsolver.Sifublew fans away during its first presentation as it demonstrated a heavily customizable fighting system with a unique aging mechanic where if the player dies they will return with their character having aged, granting them more power but less health. Abilities also have to be earned after death introducing some rogue-like elements to the game.

Priced at a lower range of $39.99 for the standard version and coming from an indie developer, many were wondering just how long or bigSifuwill be. WhileSifu’s length was learned through the reveal of its trophy listearlier this month (which, as a warning, contains spoilers)Sifu’s file size has now been revealed by Twitter account PlayStation Game Size. On PlayStation 5,Sifucomes in at a tiny 7.16GB, which is barely a scratch on the PS5’s estimated 667.2GB of available SSD storage.
As the post from PlayStation Game Size also denotes,Sifuwill release with two versions. A standard edition, which will be available onSifu’s traditional release date of February 8th, with preloading available from February 6th, and a Deluxe Edition, available from February 6th with preloading available from February 4th. The Deluxe Edition also includes a digital art book and a digital soundtrack.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the game as it is available in just under two weeks andjoins the stacked lineup of games releasing in February 2022includingDying Light 2,OlliOlli World,Horizon: Forbidden West,The King of Fighters 15, andElden Ring. It’s fair to say however that the impression thatSifuhas left on fans will keep it from getting buried within all of these stacked releases.
Sifuwill release on PC, PS4, and PS5 on February 8.
