The announcement of thePlayStation 5has given birth to a host of rumors about the features and specifications of the console. There has been very little confirmed by Sony about the console, however, there have been plenty of leaks to fuel the fires of conjecture. It now appears that two sources of information have contrary facts and this brings into question the reliability of both leaks.

The PlayStation 5 will be the next iteration ofthe world’s best selling console brand, and the success of previous consoles has led to expectation and anticipation amongst players. Whether the console can once again beat its competition and provide players with an excellent experience remains to be seen. Many fans are interested in the specifications of the console, as it will give them a greater idea of how the console measures up not only against its competition but its previous generations.

ThePlayStation 5was said to be more powerful than the Xbox Series X by Kleegamefan and the source has steadily released information of the last couple of months. After the GitHub Oberon leak, the source was asked if the details matched their knowledge and Kleegamefan replied “No. They do not match.” While Kleegamefan previously noted that his leaks were based on devkits and were subject to change, it is still surprising that it is already in contention.

ThePS5 recently unveiled a new logobut other than this minor update, the console largely remains a mystery. While fans are undoubtedly eager to find out about the specifications of the next console war, it is evident that an official update will be the only way to have clarity on the consoles. The PlayStation 4 used incredible exclusive games to bolster its impressive specifications and this may well be the case for the next generation. If this is the case, the announcement of upcoming games for the console may be equally as important for its success as the technical information.

At the moment, rumors seem to be causing confusion about the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The validity of any leak is yet to be proven and as always they should not be taken as fact. In this instance one leak is wrong, however, whether either is right will not be evident until Sony declares the specs of the PS5. Many will be happy if the console delivers more quality games and continues to innovate on previous generations.
