Patrick Stewart made a long-awaited return to theStar Trekfranchise whenPicardfirst aired in 2020. Now that the show is ending, he’s still up for a return to the universe.

At the Paramount Plus TCA press tour, Steward said that although theStar Trekseries is ending, he’s up for a return as Picard down the line. Stewart plainly said, “There is still enormous potential for matters in what we can do and there are doors left open and we didn’t close all of them." Series co-creator Alex Kurtzman also chimed in with, “anything is possible […] If the show blows the doors off the place, and we’re certainly hoping it will as we’re very proud of season three, who knows?”
Star Trek: Picardseason 3will see a major cast reunion forStar Trekfans. Stewart isn’t the only face returning, as the crew of the Enterprise fromStar Trek: The Next Generationwill join him. LeVar Burton is back as Geordi LaForge, Michael Dorn is back as Worf, Jonathan Frakes is back as William Riker, Gates McFadden will be back as Dr. Beverly Crusher, Marina Sirtis will be Deanna Troi, Brent Spiner will be back as Lore, and Jeri Ryan will be Seven of Nine once again. The cast will be rounded out byPicardnewcomer Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd).
The fact that theStar Trek: The Next Generationcast is returningfor one final adventure is an exciting prospect. Reportedly, they will be chased by a mysterious new enemy, though the enemy may have ties to some of their old adventures. Given Kurtzman’s comments, thePicardcrew is shooting for the stars this time around, so fans won’t want to miss this reunion.
