Summary
One of the main in-game features inPalworldis base-building. This is where players hunker down and rest after exploring the game’s vast regions, capture different Pals, and collect materials used for crafting. A player’s baseserves as their headquarters, where they can prepare and repair their weapons, armor, and provisions before going on excursions.
Players can use their Pals to safeguard their bases, on top of ensuring valuable resource-making items like stones, coal, lumber, planted seeds, and crafting tasks are maintained and done as quickly as possible. Some Pals are better-suited for more types of work than others: here are Pals that can work multiple roles when stationed at a player’s base.

Commonly found in the starting area of the map

Transporting
Cattivais one of the early-game Pals players encounter during the course of their playthrough inPalworld. As a Neutral-type, Cattiva has subpar attacks, but what they lack in combat skills, they make up for when placed in a player’s base, especially during the early stages.
They are one of the most versatile early-game Pals for base-related work. They can do Handiwork, Gathering, Mining, and Transporting duties quite well. The only downside is they cannot do Watering or Planting tasks; if they could do those, they would be a shoo-in for the best starting Pals for base-related tasks.

Once players begin to have farming plots available to be built on their bases for planting seeds, or when they have Crushers on their base for crafting Paldium Fragments, having a Water-type Pal in the base becomes a priority. This is wherePengulletcomes in. This early-game Water-type Pal can do Watering and Cooling tasks on top of Handiwork and Transporting.
Having a Water-type Pal that can do more than just Watering tasks is a good find, since most of them cannot do anything else outside tasks like watering planted seeds and crusher tasks. Pengullet can do water-related tasks while also doing more basic tasks at the base.

Fort Ruins, commonly found around areas near the starting location
During the early hours of the game, players will need a steady supply of lumber to keep their farming items like the Stone Axe and Stone Pickaxe in top shape. This is whereTanzeecomes in. This green monkey-looking Pal is a great addition to a player’s base during the early stages, since it can do a lot of things while stationed there.

Tanzee is good at Lumbering, Planting, and Gathering; if deployed in a player’s base near some trees, it will start hacking away at them for lumber and store it in the nearest chest or container. Once players have access to farm plots that allow them to plant seeds, Tanzee can be assigned to do so and has a decent rate of completing such tasks for an early level Pal.

Fire-type Pals during the game’s early levels typically do not offer much help as far as base-related tasks are concerned. While Kindling tasks are indeed important, most Fire-type Pals only offer Kindling as their contribution when stationed at a base.

Wixenbucks this trendby being handy at not only in Kindling tasks, but also amazing at Handiwork, making it a great Pal for crafting tasks. It is also a decent Transporter, which is always a good thing to have, especially during the transition from the early to mid-stage of the game.
Gathering
During the mid-20s to level 30 and above, having a constant supply of lumber becomes paramount for some items to be crafted, alongside the need for ingots. These require a Pal that can do some Lumbering and Kindling, whichBushican accommodate, and then some.
Aside from the amazing Lumbering 3 and Kindling 2, which allow it to complete chopping lumber and produce ingots from ore,Bushiis also an able hand at Transporting. Bushi can also be tasked with Handiwork and Gathering duties whenever the need arises, and it does them competently.

Mossanda Forest, usually accompanying an Elizabee
Once playersgain access to Mossanda Forestfast travel point, they have a chance to capture aBeegarde. This Grass-type Pal covers the most base-related tasks, making it the most versatile Pal to be dispatched to a player’s base. Beegarde are excellent complementary Pals for those who have niche tasks like Generating Electricity and Kindling since they can cover all other duties.

That said, while Beegarde can do a wide number of tasks in a base, it doesn’t particularly excel or specialize in those tasks, with all of them having one a 1 rating, while Transporting has 2.
Penkingis a good Water-type Pal to have during battles, but this burly penguin-like Pal is also a great addition to a player’s base. This is due to its Work Suitability, which it can do on a base with a level of 2, which gives it the edge against the other Pals that do not specialize in particular tasks at the base.

From Watering, Cooling, and Handiwork to Mining and Transporting, Penking is a solid addition that can accommodate these tasks at a faster rate than most early-level Pals. When not used for combat, Penking’s great Work Suitability stats make it a great Pal that can be deployed at a player’s headquarters.
Handiwork
Outside the first boss fight with Zoe, players won’t encounter aGrizzboltunless they arelooking to capture onefor themselves. This menacing Electric-type Pal is good at combat and great as a base Pal. It specializes in Generating Electricity and Transporting, making it a great complementary Pal for those that specialize in doing other duties like Kindling and Watering.
Grizzbolt is also effective at Lumbering and Handiwork duties, the latter of which becomes more frequent once players have access to the more complex items that need various crafting materials.
Petalliaare tall, humanoid Grass-type Pals that excel at growing things in a player’s base. They specialize in Planting and Gathering, while also capable of doing Handiwork and Medicine Production duties. They can also be tasked with transporting items, but they are not as efficient as the other Pals more suited for the job.
Encountering Petallia requires players to go to the Wildlife Sanctuary at the southern part of the map. They need to go there during the daytime to have a chance encounter with some wild Petallia that they can catch. Alternatively, they canencounter a Petallia mini-bossin the middle of the Ancient Ritual Site.

Cooling
Wumpoare the equivalent of yetis inPalworld. They are imposing beasts that specialize in Ice-type attacks which are strong against Dragon-type Pals. When deployed at a player’s base, Wumpo areexceptional at Transporting itemsfrom one container to another. This makes them excellent Pals to have at bases that often produce crafting materials at a fast rate and need quick storage.
Apart from Transporting, Wumpo is a capable Lumbering Pal, and can also be assigned to Cooling and Handiwork duties. One downside of Wumpo when stationed at bases is that they tend to need gargantuan amounts of food compared to other Pals.
