Given that the snow areas inPalworldare typically reserved for players whose levels are around 35 and higher, chances are players willsteer clear of the frozen locationsuntil they have a good enough party. Getting an Ice-type pal provides decent coverage against enemies. They are particularly effective against Dragon-type Pals, but are weak against Fire-types.
Among the dozens of Ice-type Pals, a few are more noteworthy and offer more to players’ parties and bases once captured. From fluffy-looking furballs, to sharp-dressed birds, to majestic beasts that roam the tundra, these Ice-type Pals are the best ones to capture and add to a player’s party or enlist in their bases.

6Cryolinx
Dragon-Pal Specialist
Dragon-type Pals are common encounters around the various areas inPalworld. While the Ice-type is the elemental counter to the Dragon-type, there’s one specific Pal that specializes in dealing with Dragon-types: theCryolinx.
Cryolinx’s attacks are predominantly Ice-based, starting with Ice Missile at Level 7. Its attack stats are also good as it levels up, which makes it a viable Ice element Pal as players reach Level 30. What makes Cryolinx a great Pal against Dragon-types is its Partner Skill, Dragon Hunter. Whenever Crylolinx is fighting with the player, any Dragon element Pals they defeat will drop more items than usual. This makes Cryolinx an excellent Pal when farming for Dragon-specific crafting items.

As a worker in the player base, Cryolinx is amazing at cooling, good at lumbering, and okay with handiwork tasks. Given its high offensive stats, Cryolinx makes for a great base defender that can keep invaders from taking over the base.
5Ice Reptyro
Ice-Type Mining Machine
As its name suggests, theIce Reptyrois the Ice-type version of the Fire-type Reptyro. It is as burly and formidable as its Fire-type variant, and its Ice and Ground-based attacks hit like a truck once it gets rolling.
Ice Reptyro predominantly has Ice attacks, with Blizzard Spike being the last one it can learn once it reaches Level 40. Its strongest attack, however, is Rock Lance, a Ground-type move that has a massive 150 power. This allows Ice Reptyro to deal with the stronger Electric-type Pals that will appear after players start todiscover more Fast Travel spotsin more far-flung areas.

For players who are constantly looking for nodes to mine ore, mounting an Ice Reptyro significantly improves the rate of acquiring ores. This is essential, especially once players reach the mid-20 levels, which is when more powerful items and weapons start to require Ingots. Having an Ice Reptyro as a helper in a player’s base allows it to also perform Cooling tasks.
4Sibelyx
Mid-Game Ice Pal Option
Sibelyxis an Ice-type Pal that players can encounter once they have access to the Tower of the Free Pal Alliance. It has its own boss dungeon in the areawhere Lily’s tower is located, and it is no pushover at level 40. Players who want to catch it should expect a tough fight, and prepare their party accordingly.
Its moveset mixes Dark, Water, and Ice attacks to cover for its weakness to Fire. Spirit Flame has 75 Power, Aqua Burst has 100, and its strongest attack, Blizzard Spike, which can be learned at Level 50, has a whopping 130 Power.

Silk Maker, its Partner Attack, can be activated to strike a target with a powerful Blizzard Spike. When deployed inside a player’s base, Silk Maker allowsSibelyxto generate High Quality Cloth if it is assigned to work in the Ranch. Sibelyx is also handy with Medicine Production and Cooling tasks.
3Pengullet
Early-Game Ice Pal
Pals with dual types can be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage inPalworld. On one hand, it gives Pals more diverse attacks, but it also means they will have more weaknesses.
But during the early game, having a dual-type Pal is great for coverage. This is whyPengullet is a great pickupduring the first few hours. As a Water and Ice-type Pal, its attacks are effective against Fire and Grass-type Pals. Pengullet’s Partner Skill, Pengullet Cannon, is an activated ability that sees players load theirPengulletin a rocket launcher which they can aim at enemy targets for sizable damage. However, this renders Pengullet incapacitated.

Pengullet is anexcellent helper on player bases, since they can handle Handiwork, Watering, Cooling, and Transporting tasks. Its ability to Water is essential for growing food farms, as well as utilizing the Crusher when farming for Paldium Fragments.
2Chillet
Solid Dual-Type
Dragon element Pals have an inherent weakness to Ice element Pals. Chilletbucks this elemental weaknessby having a dual typing of Dragon and Ice. This makesChilletstrong against other Dragons, since its Ice-type allows it to soak Dragon-type attacks. Offensively, Chillet’s Ice attacks, like Ice Crystal, Icicle Cutter, and Cryst Breath, can make quick work of Dragon-type Pals.
Players can encounter a boss variant of Chillet early in the Windswept Hills area, at a respectable Level 11. Chillet is also a good early to mid-game mount option, since it can jump vertically better than other early-level mounts. Players’ attacks also become Dragon-type whenever they are riding a Chillet during enemy encounters. This can be used as a tactic against boss fights and dungeons that have Dragon-type Pals.

As a helper in players’ bases, Chillet does a decent job with Cooling and Gathering tasks. However, it would be better for players to complement Chillet with another Ice-type Pal if their bases need to have steady Cooling throughout.
1Penking
Hard-Hitting Penguin
At first glance, Penkings look like an evolution of Pengullets. Even their dual typing of Water and Ice suggest that these two flightless birds are related. This is unfortunately not the case, however, as its Paldeck Entry states. That said,Penkingis similar to Pengullet as far as type advantage is concerned. Penking is great for dealing with Fire and Grass-type Pals, since its two elements can cover for each other’s weaknesses, offensively.
Players can encounter andcapture a boss variant of Penkinga couple of paces away from the Desolated Church location. Starting at a respectable Level 15, its Alpha boss battle can test players’ mettle and restraint, since it can soak a ton of damage for an early game encounter. Once captured, its Partner Skill, Brave Sailor, improves the dropped items of incapacitated Fire-type Pals when it is fighting alongside the player. This skill allows for easier farming of Flame Organs from Fire-type Pals.
At the base, Penkings are excellent helpers, since they cover a wide scope of tasks. This ranges from Watering, Cooling, Mining, Handiwork, and Transporting. They are also great defensive Pals against invaders, since their Ice attacks can freeze key enemies.
