AnOverwatch 2fan notices that Kiriko’s Witch skin is missing the unique voice line for her Kitsune Rush ultimate. MostOverwatchevent hero skins have voice line variations either with their regular dialogue or their ultimate voice line. But Kiriko may be missing her own unique lines, and a fan is raising awareness for the missing dialogue.
TheKiriko Witch skin has been controversialfrom the moment it was released in the store when the Halloween event started. Thanks to its absurdly high bundle price and lack of an à la carte purchasing option, this skin has become the banner for what is wrong withOverwatch 2free-to-play pricing model. Now one fan is noticing that, despite how expensive the skin is to obtain, it’s missing a unique feature that is part of otherOverwatchevent skins: a unique ultimate voice line in multiplayer games.

Redditor LuluTheOtaku has brought it to the attention of the r/Overatch subreddit that Kiriko’s Ultimate voice line is missing from their games. Her voice line “Enter the Spirit Realm” is present when she is used in theJunkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bridegame mode, but it seems to be missing when they play or see Kiriko wearing her Witch costume skin in their regular games. Usually, event skins like Reinhardt’s Gridiron Summer Games skin, Hanzo’s Wolf skin, and other Epic and Legendary Overwatch 2 skins have unique voice lines. Fans are using this case of a missing voice line to once again criticize Blizzard’s monetization for the game.
Some commentators offer the suggestion that the missing voice line may be a bug. At least 2 players replying in the thread have offered anecdotal evidence claiming that they have heard Kiriko say the right Kitsune Rush voice line when she’s wearing her Witch skin. It may also be an intentional decision to not confuse players when a Witch Kiriko is on both teams. Regardless of whether it is bugged or missing, this is another negative for the Kiriko Witch skin, as fans are already bothered that the only way to get this skin is scraping togetherOverwatch 2currency given from the Weekly Challenges and buying up to $26 in coins from the store.
IfBlizzard keeps with its standard of how it treatedOverwatchevent skins outside event windows, the Witch Kiriko skin will be locked away until an anniversary event or next year’s Halloween event. There is already pressure for Kiriko fans to get this skin now or wait a year for another shot at it, so it is imperative for those that have already purchased it that everything associated with the outfit works properly.
Overwatch 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
