AnOverwatch 2fan has created an impressive animation that features some of the game’s most prominent heroes, successfully encapsulating them in a minimalist style. WhenOverwatch 2was released back in October, many of the original heroes transitioned to the new game with a different look, and a few new characters were introduced to the rotation, with one of the fresh faces being represented in the animation.
An artist recently shared two different brief clips featuring variousOverwatch 2heroeswhich they have classified as doodles that celebrate some of the characters in a unique way. There are many playable characters inOverwatch 2that are split between three categories of gameplay that are essential to balance to succeed in most match types, damage, support, and tank. Although not all the heroes ofOverwatch 2are reflected in the two animations, each of the three types is featured through characters that the artist has hand-picked and could be continued with how much of the roster remains unrepresented.

Reddit user Drowsykb’sOverwatch 2doodle animation part one begins with Soldier 76 running across a flat plain while shooting the primary fire of his assault rifle, pausing to unload the last few rounds of a clip before reloading and sprinting off-screen. Soldier 76 is quickly replaced by a Genji which double jumps while throwing three shuriken at the ground as he drops where the first one landed and collects all three when he dashes away with the Swift Strike ability. The flat line is empty for a moment as a wisp of smoke grows near the middle to revealOverwatch 2’s Reaperposed with his Hellfire Shotguns which he starts to unload while following the direction the Soldier 76 took at a slower pace.
The secondOverwatch 2animation from Drowsykb begins with support hero Kiriko running to the middle of the plain, with one arm crossing her frame and the other trailing behind her as if she was rushing a payload. The detail of theOverwatch 2doodle increases to show her ultimate ability Kitsune Rush which she uses before Swift Step to teleport out of view just when a Doomfist lunges into the scene with a Seismic Slam. The doodle Doomfist then charges a Rocket Punch which propels him forward with all its momentum asOverwatch 2’s Wrecking Ballsoars in with its Grappling Claw and uses Piledriver to suddenly drop before entering walk form to scuttle off-screen.
Although the thin figures in Drowsykb’s clips are simply outlines of familiar heroes fromOverwatch 2’s roster, the artist is effective at encapsulating their statures so well that they can each be recognized. Given that the two animations were posted only a couple of weeks apart, another part of the series may arrive in a similar time frame if the artist continues the update schedule.
Overwatch 2is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
