One Piecechapter 1060 was packed with many details about all the events taking place all over the world. The first few pages focused on the Straw Hats as they finally found out what happened at Marijoa. Robin was reading the news to the rest of the crew, and they were all listening as she revealed that Sabo had allegedly assassinated Nefertari Cobra.
After hearing the news, Luffy strongly defended his brother, and he reiterated that Sabo would never kill Cobra. In addition to the fiasco surrounding Sabo, there was also news about Vivi’s disappearance. The Straw Hats were extremely concerned about Vivi and wanted to sail to Alabasta to find her, but Zoro managed to talk them out of it. Immediately, after the interaction between the Straw Hats ended, the story moved to the Kingdom of Lulusia.

Clearing Up His Name
The Lulusia Kingdom was one of the eight countries that rebelled against the World Government. Needless to say, the place was in complete chaos, which would make it a great hiding place for a criminal such as Sabo. Ever since the news about him murdering Cobra got out,the World Government upped their effortsto catch him. However, no one was able to find his location, but that changed when he called the Revolutionary Army, who were camping in the Kamabakka Kingdom.
Since Sabo was not using a white transponder snail to jam the signals, it was easy for the Marines to locate the source. In a short time, they pointed out Sabo’s location to the Five Elders. Sabo’s conversation with Dragon was short and to the point. He made it clear that he had not killed Nefertari Cobra. In addition to clearing up his name, Sabo also talked about what he saw in the Empty Throne room.
Death of A King
Sabo told Dragon that he saw something terrible in the Empty Throne room in Pangaea Castle. The horrible incident that Sabo mentioned is very likely related to the death of Nefertari Cobra. It has already been made clear that the Empty Throne belongs to Imu, so if something happened in that room, they must be involved in it. Imu has a few reasons to hate the Nefertari Family, with the biggest being that they decided not to stay in Marijoa. The Nefertari Family was a part of the twenty kingdoms that banded togetherto destroy the Ancient Kingdom.

Turning down the offer to stay with the World Nobles would have not only been insulting, but it would have also raised eyebrows about their loyalty. Another reason behind Cobra’s possible assassination could be the fact that he was unwilling to disclose the location of Pluton, which is one of the Ancient Weapons. Given the fact that the World Government has killed people for less, it is perfectly possible for Imu to kill the King of Alabasta for the reasons stated above.
Protecting The Secret
It is obvious that if Sabo saw Cobra being killed, then he would have disclosed the entire details to Dragon and the Revolutionary Army. If this information were to get out, then the World Government would be in a heap of trouble. The other kingdomswould side with the Revolutionary Armyand rebel against the World Government. This would severely weaken the organization and make it easier for the Revolutionary Army to achieve its goal. So, it was extremely important for Imu to stop the secrets from getting leaked.
As soon as Sabo’s location was revealed, Imu could be seen walking toward a map and crossing out Kingdom of Lulusia from it. Moments after this happened, a huge shadowy figure appeared over the island, and all the people including Sabo had a look of disbelief on their faces. In seconds,the entire island was decimated, and then explosion was so immense that tsunami alerts were triggered. Given the power of the attack, it would be safe to assume that all of the populace is dead.
Is Sabo Dead?
At the moment, Sabo’s chances of survival appear to be quite grim. The magnitude of the attack was so great that it seems impossible that Sabo could have survived. However, Sabo had survived a similar situation in the past, so it wouldn’t be surprising. When he set sail as a kid, his boatwas attacked by a Celestial Dragon, and it seemed that he was dead. Luckily, Sabo was rescued by Dragon, who took him in and trained him.
Over the years, Sabo rose through the ranks to become the chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army. Sabo’s actions earned him the admiration of people all over the world, and he earned the epithet “Flame Emperor.” According to the Marines, Sabo is just as popular as Dragon, so losing him would be a big blow to the Revolutionary Army. While it is completely plausible that Sabo is dead, it would be really underwhelming to see him die in such a manner.
A character like Sabo, who was reintroduced for the sake of the story, dying without accomplishing his goals would be anticlimactic. Also, it seems too brutal on Oda’s part to kill off both of Luffy’s brothers, which would mean that neither of his brothers watched him realize his dream. After the destruction of the Lulusia Kingdom, Oda decided to skip a few days ahead, thus keeping Sabo’s fate a mystery. Oda has done the same things in the past to tantalize the fans and keep them guessing, so clearly Sabo’s story is far from finished. As the story progresses, Oda will definitely reveal Sabo’s fate.
