Of course, this only raised mistakes for what is to come in the Final Saga ofOne Pieceand fans cannot be more excited. This week’s chapter gave fans a look at the aftermath of everything that has been going down all over the world and, more importantly, a return to Egghead Island, which is where the biggest incidentin recent time will go down today.

The Newspapers Next Day
One Piece1089 surprisingly started with Foosha Village. Fans know this village to be the place where Luffy spent the vast majority of his childhood and set out on his journey from. There, the newspaper that carried information about Garp being missing in action on the Pirate Island and, at the same time, Luffy having barricaded himself inside the Egghead Island arrived. Fans saw the beloved characters from this part of the world react to this news. Of course, Garp being missing in action was worrisome for all the people of Foosha Village. At the same time, they also seem to be worried about Luffy, given that he’s facing a very precarious situation at the moment.
While Woop Slap didn’t seem to beall that worried about Garp, Dadan certainly was, especially when it came to Luffy, given that he is going to be taking on an entire Navy fleet all by himself very soon. On a brighter note, fans got to see Makino’s son once again and he seems to have taken quite a liking to Luffy. Currently, the entirety of Foosha Village is holding their breath. Two of their most beloved people are currently in danger and could end up in very serious situations. It is very much understandable why Oda gave them a segment of their own in the chapter, given that they are especially close to the characters and this news would certainly hit them at the hardest.

The Aftermath Of The Motherflame
While the beginning ofOne Piecechapter 1089 was certainly very interesting, the most interesting part of the chapter came right after it. Fans got to see the aftermath of the usage of Motherflame, a dangerous weapon created by Dr. Vegapunk. The Motherflame seems to be a weapon based on the powers of the Ancient Weapon Uranus. It was somehow sent to the World Government and Imu used it to destroy Lulusia and wipe it off from the face of the earth around 6 days ago. Suddenly, the entire world was shaken with a massive earthquake, felt on each and every single corner of the globe. It was so incredible that even the epicenter could not be located and thus, much of the significance attached to why this happened was lost.

Nonetheless, the earthquake was the greatest to have ever been recorded in known history and it caused large scale destruction everywhere. Fans got to see a look at the various places wherethe Straw Hat Pirateshad been, from Loguetown in the East Blue to the likes of Water 7 in the Grand Line. Oda even went back to Wano to showcase the effects being felt in such a far off kingdom. Many islands were completely inundated with water as sea levels started to rise and it was revealed that after this tragedy, the sea level rose permanently by a total of 1 meter. Furthermore, the place where Lulusia once was looked exactly similar to how Enies Lobby looks – a giant hole with an unending waterfall on all sides. This makes it quite clear that whatever country stood where Enies Lobby is now was completely destroyed using the Uranus in the past.
The Navy’s Siege Of Egghead
As was mentioned before,One Piecechapter 1089 was jam-packed with information and fans saw a lot of events being covered at the same time. Thankfully,One Piece1089 finally saw the story go back to Egghead Island. Fans did not get to see the Straw Hat Pirates immediately. Instead, the fans were treated to the situation from the point of view of the Navy first. Oda did brilliantly to lay down the groundwork for this siege that has now begun and explained the order of the things as they are at the moment. Currently, 100 ships are present on Egghead Island of all sizes and they also include 20 battleships of the Navy. On these 20 battleships are nine Vice Admirals, and among them, the notable ones are certainly Vice Admiral Doll as well as Vice Admiral Doberman, who One Piece fans should be very familiar with at this point.
At the same time, one of these battleships also carried Admiral Kizaru, one of the strongest military forces of the World Government, leading the whole operation. Furthermore, to make the situation even more intense, one of the Five Elders, Saint Jaygarcia Saturnwas also present on the battleships, making the siege very intriguing. Ideally, the Navy would have liked to barge through and charge into Egghead Island already, however, they cannot do so since the Frontier Dome that protects the island is currently at 100%, meaning that nobody can enter or leave, not even the Navy.

The Straw Hats Back In Action
Finally, after months of wait,One Piecechapter 1089 saw the Straw Hat Pirates return and light up the manga once again. While fans certainly did enjoy the story being away from them for so long, at the end of the day, the Straw Hats are the core of the story and the main reason why the fans enjoy it as much as they do. Their return was a welcomed one and fans certainly enjoyed seeing them once again, even though it was just on the last page of the chapter. Before the Straw Hats were revealed, however, fans got to see York make a call to the Five Elders, stating that she was confused as to why they were attacking her. According to the Government, she was one of the Vegapunks as well, which meant that she should be eliminated, however, given that the Motherflame worked wonders recently, they now have had a change of heart and want to keep her alive.
York asks for protection of the laboratory where the reactor to make more Motherflame is and, at the same time, status as one of the Celestial Dragons. The Gorosei agreed to that demand, however, little do they know that she is currently a prisoner of the Straw Hat Pirates. At the very end of the chapter, York cried for help because she is being held captive bythe Straw Hat Pirates and the Seraphimscannot save her anymore either. The Five Elders as well as all the marines now know that Luffy is very well active on the island, and with that, the Egghead Incident has officially begun.
